+516 Watching the teenagers in the Olympics really makes you think about how little you've accomplished in your life outside of the internet, amirite?

Yep. While watching women's gymnastics yesterday, I was just thinking, "She's become one of the world's greatest athletes in the history of existence... I got a post homepaged last week."

Outside of the internet? What's that?

A dark, scary place, my friend. A dark, scary place...

and I'm there sitting on my couch, stuffing my face with popcorn and shit, and I think to myself 'I want a butt like hers. so I should probably go to the gym or something'

They've probably trained themselves for that since they were very young. I don't feel the need to do anything like that, nor do I want to. I feel I'm on an all right path.

Good on you. If only all of us had that much self-assurance.

It's not too hard to convince yourself that you're okay.

Well, though I'm satisfied with myself, I disagree. Regardless, when watching people your age accomplish historic things and representing their entire country, it puts your own accomplishments in perspective, but you can still be proud of what you've done, even if the Olympians make you feel a little underwhelmed with your talents/life.

I don't really understand why you're being mostly down-voted. As amazing as I think these athletes are, I don't compare myself. They are in completely different circumstances.

I consider every post i make that gets homepaged an accomplishment. To each his own.

Eh. I was a gymnast for a while. Not Olympic good, but I'd say I wasn't bad.
