+463 It's considered tacky to give someone money for their birthday, but you actually love getting money on your birthday; you can spend it however you want, amirite?

Since when is that considered tacky?

I agree, but I can see it as a last-minute gift with no thought. I would rather get money from everyone unless it was a well thought out gift that I would enjoy.

I've never seen it as a last minute gift, I always just thought that any person can have whatever they want if I give them money. I guess I'll have to put more thought into my gifts from now on =/

I think it's just kind of a cop out. When I was younger and kids at birthday parties would give money, I thought it was dumb. I do like getting money from random relatives though..

whachoo mean?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I feel awkward giving someone money/gift cards because then they know exactly how much I spent on them.

Though I agree, I'm fine with getting a Barnes and Noble or GameStop gift card, because I spend most of my money at those two places anyway.
