+138 Some steps in life are completely overrated, like dubstep, amirite?

Dubstep is a diverse genre; it should not be judged based on the mainstream artists. There's a lot of good stuff out there

Thank you. I love dubstep. I understand why people don't like it but I stil feel like most people haven't given it a real chance because they listened to one Skrillex song and thought "This is awful it just sounds like noise." Well it kind of was. That's what Skrillex does.

I saw this yesterday ,and I thought it was pretty cool. http://www.good.is/post/intermission-beatboxer-does-dubstep/

Why is it so cool to hate on Skrillex now? I bet you were really into him a few months ago.

You would be dead wrong in saying that. I've been in the dubstep scene for about 2 years now. I was brought in to it by the original stuff that's still really underground. Distance and Rout were my personal favourites. But I have actually started to like the more modern dubstep. Cyberoptics, Datsik (his old stuff), Cookie Monsta, Downlink, Dubba Jonny, Liquid Stranger, D-Jahsta, Eptic's new album is surprisingly good, Bratkilla and Getter are hit and miss for me, and P0gman. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm actually not a huge fan of what people call "real dubstep" but I do like skrillex... does that make me weird?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No. You can like Skrillex. It just makes me mad when people say "I love dubstep" and when I ask go they listen to the //only// name they drop is Skrillex. Don't tell me that you love a genre if you only like one artist. I will say my first comment was a but out of hand. If you like Skrillex you should look in to Knife Party, Eptic, and Datsik (his new Vitamin D album)

I think dances to dubstep music look really cool.

I think it is really nice of dubstep musicians to take into consideration that dancing to their music makes disabled people look normal.

That was so mean but so funny. In all seriousness though, it does look pretty neat...almost as if they freeze time.
