+167 It should be illegal to send a child who is clearly sick to school, and it should also be illegal for the school to punish children for being sick, amirite?

Illegal...really?

This is what I was thinking - both my parents worked when I was in Primary School, and they couldn't leave me home all day - when I was sick and there was no relatives or family friends I could stay with, I literally had to go sit in the sick bay all day at school. It's not ideal, and I agree that you shouldn't send sick kids to school, but making it illegal will only harm kids with working or single parents who literally cannot let their kids stay home.

Yep. I'm not sure if you have heard, but illnesses spread when an infected person comes into contact with people. Also depending on the illness, it can be potentially dangerous to the child.

Your school was waaay more strict than mine if kids got punnished for being sick. In mine, they just got sent home or lied in nurse's office until they felt better.

Somebody's bitter.

What kind of school punishes you for being sick?

It's usually indirect, like not allowing them to make up work. My high school was like that.
