You ARE not OCD, because it is impossible to be Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. You HAVE OCD, amirite?
by Anonymous11 years ago
I think you mean CDO.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I think I get it.
by Anonymous11 years ago
But "Compulsive Disorder Obsessive" makes no sense...

You think I'm that stupid? I knew it was a joke. I'm just a Grammar Nazi with an itchy trigger finger and a distaste for jokes that are dumb.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I never said it didn't make sense. I just said it was dumb.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I didn't think you were stupid til you replied. Now It's pretty clear.
by Anonymous11 years ago
OK, fine. No need to be a dick. I was making those repiles at midnight, not that that's an excuse. I apologise. Perhaps I should have said that I'm not a fan of jokes about mental illness. I find them offensive. And I know that makes me a whiny little bitch with a stick up my ass, but people with mental illnesses should not be acceptable targets for humour. How many (acceptable) jokes about cancer or diabetes have you ever heard?
by Anonymous11 years ago
That wasn't the point. I'm saying that it seems to be perfectly fine to make a joke about schizophrenia, OCD or DID, but if you make a joke about cancer or diabetes (PHYSICAL illnesses) you're a heartless asshole. Both should be acceptable targets, or neither should be.
by Anonymous11 years ago
If you or someone you loved were dying of cancer, would you honestly laugh if someone made a joke about it? I've been on meds for depression and anxiety for three years. I think jokes about that sort of thing trivialise the difficulties that mentally ill people have in life. Just like a joke about cancer would trivialise the pain and suffering that a cancer patient goes through. I think I can see that we aren't going to agree on this, but I also see that I really do sound stupid further up in the comments.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt, amirite?
by Anonymous11 years ago
Ok, I was honestly trying to be civil with you, but if you don't want to accept that then there is nothing else I can say to you. Kudos to your Dad, though. I'm glad he beat cancer. Best wishes.

My uncle died from prostate cancer, and my godfather committed suicide. I've been affected by these things too, you know. Those jokes can hit pretty close to home. That's all I'm saying. I'll admit that my stance above did seem a bit extreme, though, and I never meant to sound like the joke police or something. I just don't really like to joke about things which killed two important people in my life.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I specifically said that I realised that my stance before was too harsh and sounded hypocritical. I didn't want to sound like the joke police, but I did, and I apologise.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Good-o, then. I'm glad we somewhat resolved this. I promise I'm not usually so bitchy/obsessed with political correctness. Thanks for the debate :)
by Anonymous11 years ago
Haha that I did. I am facepalming pretty hard at myself. My original comment was actually meant as another lame joke, believe it or not. I guess I phrased it wrong.
by Anonymous11 years ago
It's weird how over 90% of the people who voted on this have OCD. You'd think the numbers would be lower.
by Anonymous11 years ago
what? the post isn't saying that you have ocd. it's correcting people who say it the wrong way.
by Anonymous11 years ago
"You HAVE OCD"
by Anonymous11 years ago
YOU ARE IDIOT.
by Anonymous11 years ago
YOU MISSED JOKE.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I see no joke. I see you repeating the post as if it disproves Katie's point
by Anonymous11 years ago
@Laguakat: I have a feeling that you're confused/don't fully understand the post or my comment. The post is a public message to people who say "I'm OCD." (I think) you interpreted this post as saying, "You have OCD, amirite?" I corrected you, and your following comment confuses me.
by Anonymous11 years ago
No, I know what you meant. I was kidding.
by Anonymous11 years ago
oh, okay. sarasm is confuzzling on the internet.
by Anonymous11 years ago
Yeah, there really does need to be a sarcasm font.
by Anonymous11 years ago
That's a very OCDly thing to point out.
by Anonymous11 years ago
It's not possible unless you actually are Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
