+147 Masturbation is a perfect example of the phrase "You can't love somebody until you love yourself." If you aren't comfortable getting yourself off, how can you expect somebody else to. amirite?

This makes me wonder... it's a stereotype that not as many women masturbate as men. It's also stereotypical that it's harder for women to orgasm during sex. Could the two be related? Or did I just rephrase the post?

I don't know, I feel like if you're a boy and you see your something hanging around between your legs everyday at some point you're gonna go "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I play with it". Usually they find that pleasure at a young age, most start masturbating at around 12-14. It's not really the same for girls. Of course some girls find pleasure touching that area at a young age but we never really thought about what was going on down there (well, I'm speaking from my and my friends experiences). I never even knew there was such a thing as female masturbation until I was 12 and even then I still didn't understand it. I think girls are just pressured to keep their vaginas untouched and tight so there is this stigma about females not masturbating or exploring their bodies. Just my point of view on the topic of female masturbation.

That's pretty accurate description of how I found out, although I don't really remember the day specifically.

Woman after my own heart! There's a more pragmatic point to be made here to. Unlike men, it takes a lot for most women to actually experience an orgasm. Masturbation is a good way for them to find out what works for them.
