Getting fingered IS sex though, right? Unless OP thinks that the definition of a sexual encounter is penis-in-vagina. Which is very limiting, as there are so many types of sex you can have. Also, it's kind of heterosexist.

Boys generally don’t have a clue when trying to stimulate a girl’s genitals manually. The term fingering suggests using straight fingers to simulate an erect penis, but they have to realise that that is not the way girls masturbate. Hopefully, most boys will have studied female anatomy long before they are confronted with a girlfriend’s vulva, and will realise that the subject of their attention should be her clitoris, not her vagina. If you want to arouse her & bring her to orgasm with your fingers, firstly wash your hands & make sure your nails are short, with no rough skin. Use lube if possible, & let her guide your movements: don’t assume to know what she will like! Better still, use your tongue to gently bring her to orgasm with very light, gentle strokes along the shaft of her clitoris, trying to avoid any direct contact with the sensitive glans. She will tell you how to vary your movements as her orgasm approaches, and she may ask you to stop moving at all as she climaxes, simply resting your tongue against her glans until her contractions subside. You will feel her clitoris pulsating as this happens. If you do this correctly, she will have experienced a stronger orgasm than you could have given her using your penis which, in this instance, will have been “better than sex”!
