-30 If there was a microchip containing all human knowledge and you had the option of having it implanted in your brain, you would decline, amirite?

Erm... why?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because if you knew everything, then life would be pointless, wouldn't it

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But if you knew you could easily know everything by putting the chip in your brain, then you'd also know that trying to learn anything is a waste of time. What would make life not worth living by that logic is the chip existing, not the chip being used.

Why would life be pointless if you knew everything? For me the point of life isn't the mystery of it. I don't really think there is a point to life.

I agree that knowing everything would be boring, but even if one had access to all human knowledge, they woldn't know everything. We as a species don't know everything.

You know everything from the moment you had the chip. You wouldn't know what the future holds. You could help make the future better because you know so much.

It's drive you insane. Can you imagine knowing EVERYTHING? All the bloody murders in history, all the disgusting poop and bugs of the world, how people died, you'd have to know about brutal tortures, and every single bad thing. Think of your worst fear- you'd have to know everything about it

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But think of all the good things and the things that are not bad or good, just //information//. That would be incredible. And I knowing that wouldn't mean I was constantly thinking about disgusting poops or something. You know what rotting meat smells like, but are you always imagining it your mind? No. Also, if I knew everything about what I was afraid of, I wouldn't be afraid of it. The unknown is what naturally scares us, and without that it would be like a small shadow within blinding light.

I think knowing everything could drive someone insane. Ignorance is bliss.

Assuming it's correct information. You have to remember there's a lot of things people think they know, but it's not true. How would life be pointless? You'd have no limitations, you'd be able to do fuck-mothering anything you wanted. There would be almost limitless ways to obtain massive amounts of money, and you could use that money to buy more means to make more money, and you would eventually just win at life. You would have anything you could ever want, and design things you want that don't currently exist. You could solve any problem the world has. You would be the most important person in history. How could you say no to that?

A downside to knowing everything would be how such and such is made. It could completely disgust you with several things since you'd obviously know of it. It would be amazing to have if you get passed all the disgusting parts though. However, know-it-alls aren't usualy the most liked people.
