+142 You like amirite, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

All seriousness, the jokes are pretty great.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

In all seriousness, I like that this site makes it so easy to talk to people and make new friends

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that there are a variety of people on here and the debates are usually heated but fairly respectful and mature. For the most part, the users and mods are good people and they make the site welcoming. The website is easy to maneuver and it's simple to figure everything out.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The jokes, reading different people's opinions, getting a new perspective on things

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The witty and clever people you can find on this site. The overall design of this site is pretty neat as well.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Chat - It's awesome and people should check it out y The people - Some of you guys are fucking awesome. The forums - There are neat games and stuff that go on that are actually pretty fun. The posts - it's funny to see peoples opinions and jokes and what not

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like the size. It's small enough to where it's not impossible to get homepaged or where there are exclusive groups of users who won't talk to newcomers, but it's large enough so that there's always a new face to be seen, a new post to be read, or a new perspective to be shared. But in terms of the site itself, I like the diversity. I like how it's not specifically designed for political debates or witty jokes or goofy puns, but instead, it's a delightful combination of all the topics. allthethings

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The people on chat are super friendly and are some of the awesomest people I know. I've seen some of the funniest, most interesting and wildest things here. I've met awesome people here outside of chat. The forums are really cool and fun and stuff similar to those words. Also, a lot of my thoughts I say here I can't say to my friends in real life and I feel that I relate to everyone here to some extent. It's a pretty cool site Anthonizzle.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What I enjoy the most is the "small community" feel. Don't worry, I'm not against new people joining. I just find it awesome how everybody knows everybody, how we can have huge inside jokes and we can pull random stunts (like 30+ members having the same avatar). And when new people //do// come in, they are immediately welcomed into the community and made to feel comfortable. The people on Amirite are some of the most kind and caring people on the internet. Also, the design and features are amazing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ha, when did 30+ members have the same avatar?? wary

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I dunno, I just know my avatar is //definetly// unique.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like the community most of all. For some reason, amirite has a collection of people that I both agree with //and// get along with. That's pretty rare, and this site has quite a few of those people. There's also a pretty ridiculous number of attractive women goo Amirite contains some of the smartest, funniest, kindest, coolest, and friendliest people I've ever come across. It also seems that people have struck a good balance in regards to inside jokes. They spread relatively quickly, but don't often become overused (in my opinion). As much as I like agreeing, I also like the variety of opinions found on the site. It gives me ample opportunity to flex my arguing muscles, and I fucking love to argue. I also like how often you update the site. While many of your updates may not be necessary, they are almost always positive and useful. I don't recall them ever detracting from the site. Still, community over all. I've met some of my favorite people in the world here, even if I haven't talked to most of them in a while. l I've also met a bunch of people I respect. Other things I can't talk about helloI like the community most of all. For some reason, amirite has a collection o...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I also quite enjoy the perceived lack of rules. Other places I used to frequent included rules about swearing, talking bad about other people, and even being remotely sexually suggestive. I don't even fucking know the rules here. I've talked about all sorts of shit and I haven't been reprimanded by any mod in years. All I can tell is that reposts or taking material from other sites makes you Satan, and occasional God-tier assholeishness can get you banned. FUCK DA MODS IDWIW

by Anonymous 11 years ago

building off what you said i like the size of the site in terms of there are so many users i recognize almost instantly. About halfway through most of your longer comments I can tell its you. And even though I'm not really well known at all around here I can get into arguments with famous users and no one will automatically side with them.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's probably because I repeat myself often, haha. I always think it's awesome when people recognize me, though. I definitely recognize you.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Why did my comment start to loop at the end there? d

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Site is great... but, i don't know if this is only happening to me, but when I visit amirte all of the posts, in the post section are moved to the middle of the page. As such when i arrive i see the amirite bar at the top with username, just in, etc. however, below the bar i can only see the background, if i scroll down to about the middle i finally start seeing posts. I don't quite understand it. The only other complaint i have is that It gets kind of confusing when there is a string of responses that are they themselves responses to a given comment string. In this sense knowing who is talking to who in a given comment string can be difficult, but more often than not, it is just cluttered, especially on popular posts. A tab/folder setup would be neat, just click on a comment and see the responses.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that it's a smaller community where if you are a frequent user you can start to truly get to know people, but it's not so small that it's just the same people always posting. I like the diversity of topics and creative ideas. I like that it's very user friendly and easy to navigate.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The fact that I'm getting introduced to a new culture and its people in a different way to that the media promotes. I enjoy the debates a great deal, they have triggered a lot of thinking trains inside my mind, plus there's always something to provoke a good laugh when having a bad day.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like how the mods/creators are really involved in the site and take user suggestions into consideration. I also just like the community in general (and the forums goo [and the emoticons]) because it's not considered weird to message random people. Most of the time.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I enjoy having an area where I can talk about serious/controversial topics with people since that is an ix-nay area with most of my friends. It also gives me a sense of acceptance since I know that there are other people with my views around my age. Sometimes, I just need a good laugh or two and that is why I come on here.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like the customazible themes those are cool But really, I like basically everything about the site right now. On occasion it can feel a little cluttered, but the layout is great. Not to mention the people are pretty awesome, too. But above all what I think I like about this site is its ability to be a combination of haha funny jokes, let's get serious politics, and just flat out opinions. On things. Like, anything. And that's what the site was made for, and that's why it's still great! I've never gotten truly bored with it because there are people that want to talk about opinions, and what not. I like how it has slowly grown and is still growing, I like how there's secret achievements scattered around, I like how I can meet new people on the forums and chat(even though I barely use it), I like how I can see peoples general reaction to the latest craze or event, and I like how it always puts the user first. Look, it says Gryndstone is our middle name. That's fucking wonderful! TL;DR this site is awesome you should be proud anthony

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Personally, I like this website because you don't have to be part of the community to participate. I can just jump into a comment thread, or make a post, and then back off. The website appeals to different types of people for different reasons, which is an amazing accomplishment. And like statefarm said, it's cool how you can just message random people and they're not creeped out. Another thing that's great is just how reasonable you guys are. For the most part, people seen to have flexible opinions and open minds, so some high quality discussions tend to take place. I've never actually ventured into the forums, but I hear that's fun too. :p I <3 you, amirite.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that most people are really reasonable and will listen to other people's arguments instead of just flaming them. We can actually have a civilized conversation about controversial topics, and I love that. I also love that you'll see a civilized convo immediately followed by a great joke. In terms of site design, I love the customizability (?) of it. It's also really intuitive, which is nice. I like that it just keeps improving, with the poster nationality thing, posts floating by the comments when you scroll down, etc. One of the biggest things I use is hovering over someone's name to see their number of posts and followers, or clicking to read their bio. Really, it's the community that I love the most, even though I'm a little lurkerish...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like many things about this site, but most have already been covered. :P One thing I will say I like is this is a very friendly site to new users. It's easy to use, the people are very friendly, and you're not forced to make an account straight away.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I love the people. This site makes me feel like I'm a part of something more than other sites and what I post is more appreciated. The people here seriously brighten my day sometimes, they're wonderful. I love how people here don't bash each others opinion as much as they do debate opinions. This site is definitely one of my favorites. I also like the compatibility bar. It's just fun.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that every post gets posted and it's not hard to get homepaged because it makes it easier to share your opinions and become part of the site. I also like that one minute you can be reading or participating in an intense political debate and a second later you can see a random joke.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

When I first got to this site (I think in like 6th or 7th grade, so 3 years ago) the layout was oddly reminiscent of MLIA and FML. I'm glad you changed stuff completely, that's what is amazing about this website.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It was lucky when I discovered amirite by accident. I immediately felt the unique sense of community. I think it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy this site, so I feel like I can relate to many of the users. I love having a place to intelligently and respectfully debate even though the intelligent/respectful part doesn't always work out. I also like it when people post things, and I can feel like, "Hey, I thought I was the only one!" I love reading interesting About Me's and learning about other people's quirks. There are a wide variety of posts. Some are trivial while some are extremely thought-provoking. This site has even changed my opinions on some things. I come on here frequently, so everything feels familiar, including a lot of users. It's not so huge that I feel like just another user in a vast sea of amiriters. Lastly, the site looks nice, is easy to use, and I like that we have the ability to change our names and icons.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I wish I could remember how I discovered this site.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm sure a lot of people don't remember. I just keep note of little things like that. I can even remember the first time I met most of my friends, haha.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like how generally people use proper spelling and grammar on this site and those that don't are discouraged. It makes us appear like an intelligent community, even if we really aren't.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that there's such a variety of posts and viewpoints, and wherever you go people are welcoming to newcomers. There's also so much room to be creative with the picture posts and your theme, profile, forum signature, etc. I like that it gets changed up every once in a while and people don't complain about it too much.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I just like reading funny stuff. I like the funny stuff more then the controversial stuff (I still like the controversy though just i don't come here for that).

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like being able to openly express my opinion. And sometimes I come across someone cool. And I'm a very negative person so I'm really just focusing on the negative aspects at the moment. The community is a mixture of mature people and uh...well, not mature people. And the immature people reeeally seem to speak louder than the mature ones. I mean maybe it's just me, but I don't like seeing posts about "UGLII ppl are (bleh) and hot PPL are (bleh)" and "ADMIT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have breathed once AMRIITE!??!?" and "THAT LE AWKWARD LE MOMENT WHEN LE xdddddd LOL AMIRTIT???????????" Jokes are given a pass so long as they're funny (though if they're not funny to me I don't mind them anyhow so long as they make sense), but overall half the posts seem to just be generic teenager stuff. "YOU DIDNT HAVE A CHILDHOOD IF U DIDNT HAVE A GBA AMIRITE!??" "MEMES R SO LE FUNNY AMIRITE" "ITS SO SICKENING TO SEE CHILDREN WHORING THEMSELVES OUT FOR PAGEANTS EVEN THOUGH IM A HYPOCRITE AND IMMEDIATELY JUDGE EVERYONE ON THEIR APPEARANCES THE MINUTE I SEE THEM AMIRITE" I mean I look forward to thought-incuding posts or actual opinions. Not "YOU HAVE DONE THIS AMIRITE" all the time.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like reading other people's opinions and seeing their point of view while also being able to share my opinions and point of view.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The app is the best, i can carry the site with me everwhere i go. But i also like how you connect with the users and actually care about what they like and dont like about the site, and how you change things around based on what the majority of the users prefer.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I mostly get on here when I'm trying to kill time. I enjoy the variety of people and their opinions. I also like to see how others feel about my opinions and jokes.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like the 'small community' feel everyone is talking about. I like the fact that you can have really good debates with people without being flamed down to hell. I like the simplicity of the site, and how user friendly it is (seriously, it's one of the most user friendly sites I know) I like the witty humour everyone seems to have here :-) Only thing I didn't really like was the big appearance update earlier this year, I think things are too big and bulky, and it was more simplistic before. But other people seemed to like it, so it's fine with me. Oh and I haven't met enough people here even though I've been on this site over 2 years, so everyone is welcome to contact me wooh

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The idea of the website itself is amazing; sharing opinions and jokes and debating with others. I love how I can make a post about stuff I'd never have the courage to tell my friends or talk about with someone, and in return get people's opinions about it and get their loves. This is the only place where I can actually debate stuff, in real life I'm just like Hakuna Matata. I love how you, Anthony, interact with us and actually talk to us, and took the time to make this post to see what people think. Plus you always care about what we think of the site and actually care to make a change if we complain. You're a great website uh owner or whatever they call it. But I suppose what I love the most is the community. And i love how it's small; even though i wouldnt mind if it got bigger since everyone on amirite is really welcoming i guess. Also, i love how We all have inside jokes between each other, and how awesome is it that half of the people on the site changed their icons to the same Mango just to rage against something. And like those POTDs where everyone posts pictures of themselves doing the same ridiculous pose. Also there are great mods

by Anonymous 11 years ago

What I love about this site is how easy it is to use. This is one of the best designed sites I've ever had. I appreciate how the mods are friendly and how you take things we say into account, like with this comment style change, how someone suggested you make it gray, so you did. I also like how this site has quirky little things that no other site does. Hangman and achievements come to mind. The little message with my username makes me giggle sometimes. Just things like are really appreciated. Picture and Drawings are probably the best thing this site has changed since I've been here. I've never actually made one but they make some great posts. Mostly, though I just like posts, comments, and the forums. Commenting does not feel threatening at all, and some of the funniest moments come from there. The community is great, but everyone already said that. The way notifications work is spectacular, by the way. Thats it for now, love amirite? y

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I love the people here. I can say a lot of stuff I can't say to my friends cause we just don't talk about that stuff. Also, I like how even though this site (and the Internet for the most part) is largely leftist and atheist, there's almost always someone ready to argue for the other side. Also, I like when people make posts about current events in the world and politics (like SOPA/ACTA. I never would've known nearly as much if not for amirite. It feels good to actually know what you're talking about, and also to know both sides like I mentioned above). I just really love amirite. Thank you, Ant.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Everything. The users, the opinions, the laughs, and the tight knit community feel of it.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

i really like the fact i realize im not the only one who feels a certain way about things

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Reading amirite is my daily routine. I don't always vote or comment on posts, but they do make me laugh, so I keep coming back.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I liked being able to go back to the classic version of amirite when the website layout first changed. Me, being the type of person that's not okay with change, totally hated the difference. I don't use the classic layout anymore because I've gotten used to (and prefer) the new amirite, but I feel like having that option actually helped me get more accustomed to the changes. I've never been on any other websites that let you do that, so I thought it was pretty sweet.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I just like to argue (even if I generally suck at it).

by Anonymous 11 years ago

So I totally like this site and all, especially how I can test out ideas I have for my twitter on here, and I think it's amazing how many good posts you guys find manage to find and put on the homepage, even from years ago (but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think a few posts of my slipped through the cracks). **However!** I read the first several comments on this post, and pretty much everyone said the same thing about it being a small community and all. I disagree with this. It makes sense to me that the kinds of people who would comment on this would be the people who say that, since they're the users who are most invested in the site, but I know there are tons of people who post and comment on this site plenty but aren't really "members of the small community in any sense," like myself. I just wanted to point out that some people's perceptions of this site as a tightly knit community are a little misguided, as they have their group of users they're friends with and whatnot, but it's definitely not like everyone notices whenever someone new makes a post. There's no small town welcome feel, is all I'm saying.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I ran out of characters, but I still want to say: I don't see any of that as a bad thing, I was just offering my point of view as someone "outside the small community."

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's the bitches. If banged like 8 of these chicks. But really, as above, it's the jokes. i don't know how many of the jokes that i mindlessly regurgitate have come from this site.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Everything I have to say has already been said, but whatever. I like how it's a combination of jokes, thoughtful posts, and stuff we can relate to. Instead of just reading stories like on MLIA or FML, it's opinions that we can relate to and sometimes think "that's so true!" I like the size of the site. You see the same users a lot but also different ones everyday. I like the users are generally pretty smart, unless they're trolling. Oh, and I love Favvkes. wary

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I love the variety and how laid back the site is. Everyone knows everyone and the people talk to and about eachother like they're great friends, even if some of them have never met. It's very welcoming and quite addictive.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I like that there are so many posts, so when im bored i can read it for ages and never run out of posts to read

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Amirite is my favourite website, hands down. I have never felt such a strong sense of community on the internet before- and the people who I have met are simply phenomenal!

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I love amirite. It's an addiction. I can't stay away. I met my best friend on amirite. We have everything here. Jokes, discussions, everything. You can socialize and debate and laugh all in one place. I've gotten in some pretty heated arguments and I've also laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants. My real-life friends don't always understand amirite, but that's okay because they think I'm very witty and knowledgable even though everything that comes out of my mouth originated from amirite. I use emoticons outside of amirite and people are like lolwut and then I realise yet don't know lolwut. I l amirite.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I love how active Anthony is on the site! y Apart from that though, I love the mixture of jokes and seriousness it has! It's really a great site

by Anonymous 11 years ago
