+29 You lost all respect for Chuck Norris once he talked about politics. amirite?

I never had any respect for Chuck Norris at all. People were all like "Hurr durr, Chuck Norris is god durr durre", but I never actually gave a fuck about it. I laugh at the people that used to look up to him only to find out he was a republican red neck

And very Christian to the point where he tried to influence people to take evolution out of schools for this "Christian nation". Psh, dumbass.

Yet a school in New York just removed the holocaust from its curriculum because it offended the Muslim belief that "the holocaust did not occur" And evolution doesn't even contradict Christianity. Don't use one person's ignorance to define a group

How does evolution not contradict Christianity? I've heard several ways that people say they can coexist, I'm just curious as to what you mean.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

How does it?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The bible says that mankind and animals were placed on Earth as they are now, evolution suggests it was a much lengthier process. How do you think they can coexist?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It doesn't exactly say that. It's very vague about how it happened. It mostly just says God created animals, etc...And it also more or less says that man was created from the earth which could be interpreted as evolution

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well it actually says that animals were produced by the land, if I remember correctly. And about the creation of man, I believe the first thing it says is that they are created in god's image. This certainly, to me at least, holds the implication that there was not a process involving a slow change over time from a very different organism.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It actually says both come from the earth (more or less). If you look in Genesis 2:7 it says "God formed man of the dust of the ground"

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Either way, it says that mankind was created in his image. Not evolved into his image. That's sorta my problem with religion. As humanity's knowledge is broadened, it really starts to make religion not make so much sense. Religion's answer to this is to fall deeper into ambiguity and metaphors. The bible is taken less literally with each new bit of information.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Well you have to remember, it's been retranslated many times over and the meaning isn't exactly rock solid anymore...so it leaves room for interpretation. But evolution still doesn't contradict any beliefs or tenets of Christianity

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I am a muslim, but even I believe that the holocaust DID happen. The whole "holocaust didn't happen"-thing is being used by radicals to mock the jews.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I didn't even know if that was a tenet of Islam (sounded a little ridiculous) but my point is Christianity is getting denied at every turn for fear of be exclusive or offensive whereas other religions are getting all kinds of benefits in the name of tolerance and inclusivisity. And then they make Christians out to look unreasonable and theocratic. This is the epitome of unfair and straigh out wrong

The obsession with Chuck Norris was always a mystery to me.
