+9 Christianity respects more individual freedom than Islam, amirite?

Well, the thing about Islam is that it has stayed that way since it first was revealed over 1000 years ago. Call us old-fashioned, but since it was the final revelation, people can't change them as they please, we have to stick to these laws if we want to please God. It's alright if you think their strict or whatnot, but to a true Muslim, you can't choose what to follow in Islam and what not to follow. People find peace in religions anyways, and Muslims accept what God wills and find guidance in his words, like how people find guidance in their religions. Personally, I try to respect all religions and I like hearing people's opinions on them.

That sounds a little general to me - muslims that I know still consider themselves to be real muslims even though they don't follow shariah law to the letter. I don't think it's right to say that "real muslims" feel one way or another

TommyUK1234: Well, I agree that I shouldn't (and really, I can't) say who 'real muslims' are. reddead: There is a difference though, changing the rules in a religion entirely is different than modifying the rules to fit in current day situation. For example: A thousand years ago, Muslims that were traveling during through the desert in caravans during Ramadan were allowed to not fast on those days, as long as they made it up later. Today, the same thing applies to Muslims that are travelling on airplanes

This is a generalisation but where I come from, yes. Most of the muslim girls at my school have barely any freedom whatsoever. But I guess that's a cultural thing as well as a religious thing. Also we have almost no religious or traditional Christians and a lot of religious muslims in my area, so my perspective might be skewed.

Muslim over here, typing from the jail islam has me locked up in. But seriously, christianity could be equally restrictice if the government was dictated by the religion like in muslim countries.
