+337 It's honestly ridiculous how much hate "mainstream" singers such as Justin Bieber and One Direction get. They're just doing something they love and people every where are constantly posting about how they should die or get injured. You don't have to like them, but wishing death on someone who hasn't hurt anyone just seems a little extreme, amirite?

Honestly it seems like a ton of people hate them, which they do, but there are more than likely way more fans out there than you realize. One of my teachers today told our class that One Directions concerts are sold out from now into next year. I am by no means a fan of 1D or JB or really any mainstream artist, but they're are tons of people that are. I doubt little insignificant hateful comments made on the Internet make rich, famous artists feel like a failure or want to kill themselves.

Well, if the entertainer reads comments, they can read 100 great comments but that 1 negative comment will be the one that sticks with them. It can hurt. But why should these 'haters' or whatever even think this, or waste their life commenting these things? I just think it's pathetic

Yup, I heard Harry Styles cried because of some the comments he read about himself. :/ Sucks man.

"I wish I was Justin Bieber...he's got girls all over him and with all those haters, he must be doing something right"-a kid in my school I agree. I don't like their music, but if you're hating on them, you're really just jealous. There really isn't a good reason to hate them. I hate a lot of their followers, though, because they're annoying.

I don't get the hate on One Direction. Their lyrics make sense, they have some form of talent, and it's not annoying like the other "popular" bands. I'd much rather them than "Baby" x50 for a hit song.

Well it's just easy-to-digest pop music, but we've always had pretty boy bands since decades ago, I don't see why they're such a big deal now.

I just don't agree with the system. I mean it's a disgusting propaganda marketing consumerism, bombarding you with these pretty faces. Stuffing cheap pop music down your throat from everywhere they can just to make money. It's not necessarily the artist's fault.

You gotta feel kinda sorry for them. They're just shoved into this mainstream world and then get spit out when they reach their mid-20's because a bunch of almost 30 year olds singing about younger girls is kinda creepy.

I agree in the sense that people who say that artists should go die or something really do bug me. But I do want to question the part about them "doing something they love." As much as I hate to admit it, a lot of artists nowadays ARE just a bit more interested in money than making good music.

They have hurt me they hurt my ears every time i hear them sing wich i try to make sure is as little as possible

Even if you don't like their music, you really have no reason to hate their guts. You don't know them, and no one really deserves death threats, especially if they make so many other people happy.

I used to be very hateful towards the Biebs. Looking back, I'm not really sure why. I'm certainly not one of his fans, but I would have to agree that there's no reason to say things like so many do on the internet and in real life.

It's actually terrible what some people say about celebrities. We have not had any reason to legitimately hate say JB or 1D, yet people still give them death threats. Honestly, poor Justin Bieber has been harassed since he was like 15. That's not fair to a child at all, these people are only doing what they love. No one has any right to call Justin Bieber a lesbian or say that 1D is a group of pussies. It's actually sickening that people just say this stuff because they are jealous.
