Cursing is the language of the ignorant, amirite?

Plus they are just satisfying to say! Like when you hurt yourself, "shit!" is great to say because your teeth are already gritted

Some of the best insults are devoid of profanities, and worded so wisely that the person being insulted isn't even aware of it.
I blame the Thesaurus though, for not offering synonyms for curse words.

There are synonyms for curse words. I could probably think of a million other words that mean "shit." They just aren't as enjoyable to say in an emotionally intense moment.
As for the first sentence, there is more to life (and to swearing) than insults. There is a time and place for profanity, but being vulgar doesn't make someone ignorant.
I didn't swear in this comment. That isn't because it's beneath me (in fact I swear quite a lot), it's just because it wasn't appropriate for the tone of this conversation.

Curse words are actually full of meaning and history. They are the spice that livens up the amazing organism that is the English language. In my view, their demonization is just the work of puritan-esque prudes who just insist on thrusting their philosophy into our lives and making it stick. Curse words can convey such a complex array of emotions, and likewise evoke a myriad of emotional responses. They should be celebrated and embraced.

Cursing is only ignorant if a person curses at inappropriate times
