Technically, we as mammals and part of the animal kingdom do not have to remain monogamous considering that we are a part of the 5% of animals that actually practice monogamy. Other animals that practice it do as a part of instinct, while we do it based on manmade morals. But, as according to morals, I do not believe in cheating because all it does is hurt another person and it establishes a shitty rep for yourself. So it's a don't do thing.
