My parents don't care about Easter baskets as much anymore. They just give us bags late and night and say "the Easter bunny got sophisticated this year!" everytime...

I think "sad" is really the wrong word - as we get older, so do our parents, it's probably a good thing that they don't have to exert themselves so much to make Christmas exciting enough. My parents both work themselves ragged, I was always glad to see it took less and less effort each year as Christmas became more about a special family time and less about presents, glitz and sparkle.
