You have a special voice reserved for babies and pets, amirite?

I haven't really dealt with many babies in my time, but I definitely have a special voice I use only with my pets. The best part is that, even if they're silently judging me for it, they can't //tell// me that's what they're doing, whereas if I were to try that with a normal human, they would probably tell me how nuts they think I am.

I love how I get the same reaction from my dog when I use my pet voice no matter what I'm saying. I could be telling him what a good boy he is, or I could be telling him that he's about to get bath-- either way, he wags his tail and jumps up and down.

My dog will way up my sister each morning and I always say 'lets wake her up!" In this really singsongy voice and he gets so excited. One morning I said 'let's go kill someone!' In the same tone and he went and woke her up just like normal

Yes, and it becomes sort of habit as soon as I'm around babies. Which is really unfortunate since I was working in a nursery where I had to take care of a toddler who had a hearing impairment and couldn't hear high sounds.
