+271 Introverts & Extroverts: Most people are actually BOTH, depending on their surroundings, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Yeah, that's true...I guess for me it depend on what people are asking me to do. Like, if someone asked me to go shopping, I would not be too happy, but going to a movie that I actually want to see sounds fun.

that's like saying tall people and short people: most people are actually both depending on who they stand next to I mean I guess it's true but you know I still wouldn't say most people are both it just doesn't seem correct

Being an introvert or extrovert doesn't depend on the specific scenario. The term refers to what you are generally.

Some people, like myself test exactly in the middle, and can be intro or extro depending on their surroundings. To dome degree, everyone is that way.

I think I'm both. I love parties and talking to new people at them and I like being with big groups of people at break etc. Buttt I love being alone too and never really get bored on my own. Most of the time I wouldn't go and talk to someone first and I'm always the quiet ones in groups/class. I think it completely depends on the atmosphere/people you're with. For me, anyway.

I'm generally an expert, but in some of my classes where I don't know anyone I rarely talk. Put me around my friends and I will never shut up.

Idk where I stand because I'm pretty quiet/reserved BUT I love being around people, big crowds, meeting new people, parties etc. I rather be around people than be alone but it doesn't really reflect in my actions...hmm

Ambiverts, Yeah.

You can't be both. Being an extrovert doesn't mean you enjoy being around people. It means you derive energy from being around people. A person who loves hanging out with close friends or certain groups of people, but becomes weary and tired afterwards is an introvert, not "an extrovert in that particular situation". On the flip side, extroverts become tired or depressed after being alone for a while. They can hate hanging out with a group of people, but it will energize them.

I am exactly both then because only half the statements is true for me while the untrue parts, if flipped are correct.
