+48 It's hard having a disability as a child; it's equally as hard being a sibling of a child with a disability, amirite?

It would be hard being the sibling of a person with disabilities, having your parents have to pay more attention to the other child, not being able to do things with your sibling that other siblings can do, feeling sorry if they're in pain, but I don't think it's equally hard as the person with disabilities has it.

Depends on what the disability is and how it's portrayed in the media. The person has to cope with both the disability itself and discrimination based on propaganda about the disability.

Assuming that this is encompassing mental as well as physical disabilities, I wholeheartedly agree. My little brother has severe autism, and it's strained our entire family undescribably. My uncles and aunts have told me that teens like me should be out enjoying life, not worrying about their sibling's future.

Equally??? You've got to be kidding me. I've heard mostly parents say "its just as hard on me as it is on you" about a child's mental illness. It is **way** more hard to actually have the disability then be the sibling of someone with that disibility.

Unless the person with the disability beats the shit out of their sibling. But I totally agree with you

Because YOLO and most childhood disabilities don't have a cure, we can't actually know.
