+53 It's funny how songs like The Yellow Submarine, Chacarron Macarron and Blue (Da Ba Dee) were hits, but nowadays if you have songs with as low lyrical content as those it's hated on, amirite?

I think it also has to do with the music though. I prefer "Yellow Submarine" over "Party Rock Anthem."

The music or the artist the made it? I personally do not like either, but like the Beatles' song more because I like the Beatles a little more than LMFAO. But, I hate soft rock and like EDM.

I guess the music. Yellow Submarine is more interesting because there's more of a chord progression. I have a pretty wide tolerance for music of most genres, just not always the poppy stuff that is getting played all the time. To be honest, that was why I originally hated the EDM genre, but now that I have actually started listening to and analyzing it I can appreciate it. I developed an increased tolerance of Skrillex and then began listening to many of the underground artists involved in EDM and learned just how diverse it is as a genre. Also, I don't know what you mean by soft rock but I feel like it's probably one of those categories that isn't really a genre since the bands known for hard rock or blues punk can produce a soft song occasionally. As an example you can compare "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who to "Blue Red and Grey" also by the Who.
