At the same time, we are programmed to preserve as much energy as possible and only use energy for necessary things, though due to modern developments we of course do no longer need to hunt for our food, etc Also, to me that article does not seem too convincing. Certainly, too much lazing around is probably not healthy, but can't they back it up? How does sitting cause cancer, what happens and also kinda important, where can the results and reports of this research be found?

It's CBS news. And it makes sense- probably a phenomenon that can never be fully explained. I know that I feel better physically and emotionally when I stretch and move around a lot.
