-66 Though it's hard to admit, you're really only into Christmas for the presents. Amirite?

i always hated christmas. its not the getting together i hate. its the gift giving i hate. i dont mind giving gifts but i hate how christmas in my opinion promotes a selfish expectant attitude and my family is poor as hell. yet everyone will go out of their way to get everyone a gift regardless of if it makes them go even further into debt. so when i get a gift i think. someone went into debt to get me this. i appreciate it but it makes me feel guilty and horrid. so ive asked my family not to get me anything for gift giving holidays.

i think if you want to give a gift to someone you will. just to show them you care. you dont need a specific day of the year to just pull out your wallet for. as well as a surprise gift to a non expectant attitude is much better than an already expecting attitude.

When I was a kid, Xmas was definitely all about the presents. I'm from a middle-class family, so I always got a good haul of gifts every year, very respectable, haha. But once I'd left home and was just out on my own, I didn't care as much...these days I love xmas for the time off work, the food, going to the pub, generally just having a good ol' time with friends. I do still like getting little joke gifts or novelty items sometimes. I got a drinking straw in the shape of a penis last year...and a set of shot glasses, so it was c*ck-sucking flaming shots all around! hahaha.

I kind of like being home after the semester is over.

I love the Christmas carols! It's the only time you can sing them without people looking at you...
