+94 When someone receives information through reading, they're learning, but when someone receives information through TV, they're "being brainwashed," amirite?

I researched this a bit a while ago because I wanted to know whether reading is actually any better. Turns out, when you watch TV, your brain waves start slowing down to become just barely faster than when you're sleeping, but when you read, they speed up. Television is almost hypnotic, but reading requires active engagement.
