+105 It's really hurtful and confusing to be repeatedly lead on by your own significant other, amirite?

That's how it was with my ex, and let me tell you, not a good time.

Maybe I'm just confused, but how does your SO lead you on? When you lead someone on, you're getting their hopes up of having some sort of closer relationship, right? And isn't that what a SO //is//? Either way, if they're a repeat offender, stop wasting your time with them. It obviously means they don't respect you in some regard.

Good points, could be proposal of marriage, or having a baby, or whatever the "next step" is for a SO.

It doesn't have to be hopes of a relationship itself. It could be getting your hopes up of doing certain things together that never (or rarely) actually happen.

You mean like go to the zoo, or three-way?

Well it sounds like the main problem here is a lack of communication. To me, that's the single most important thing in any relationship. If there's no communication, what the hell are you doing?

I've said this before, but it's really easy to tell someone "Just leave if they don't respect you!" It's extremely difficult to //actually// leave.

If they're really your significant other and they truly love you they would never lead you on and hurt you knowingly otherwise they aren't genuinely your significant other.
