Perhaps that's because they already understand how it feels, while they don't understand how being straight feels (and same for straight people who probably wouldn't want to change). It's like offering the opportunity for someone to enter another life. Though they might be happier in that life, it would be unfamiliar change, and that's not something people embrace easily. If everyone got the choice before they developed a sexuality, I think more people would probably chose to be straight because the majority of people are and there are more people who one can date. It's not that they would chose to change now, it's that they probably wouldn't have chosen to be gay in the first place.

Why would they choose it? Some people see past the gender of a person and fall for them because of what's on the inside.
