You have met at least one of your 8 great-grandparents. Amirite?
by Anonymous11 years ago
REALLY?
I don't even know what my great grandparents look like
photos weren't all that popular then and there
I met 3 of my grandparents
the fourth one died when my mom was 6
only my dad's dad is left
my mom's the youngest daughter and her oldest niece is her age
but my dad is the oldest son and his oldest niece is younger than me
so my dad's parents are much younger than my mom's late parents
also
on my dad's side
I'm pretty much the tallest girl
but on my mom's side
I'm pretty much the shortest girl
I know this doesn't really relate
but I felt like sharing

so I looked up your post on the gizoogle thingy and it said
"Yo a** have kicked it wit at least one of yo' 8 pimped out-grandparents n' you can put dat on yo' toast. Amirite?"

I've met one of my great-grandmothers, but the rest all died before I was born.

As far as I know, I feel kind of lucky because 5 of my great grand parents are still alive, 1 is deceased, and I was never told about the other 2. I have met 4 of them if you count phone calls but 1 if you mean in person. The reason I feel lucky though is that a lot of people where i live only have one that is still alive.

I've met 5 in person and 4 of those have died since I was born. 4 of the 5 were on my moms side because they had my mom really young and she had me really young.

My great grandfather recently died two weeks ago actually.
by Anonymous11 years ago
So sorry. I hope she was able to pass on some stories and wisdom.
by Anonymous11 years ago
His life was interesting in his unique little way. Thank you for your condolences.
by Anonymous11 years ago
But you never met him?
by Anonymous10 years ago
Oops, I clicked the wrong button. Derp.

I haven't even met all my grandparents, let alone great-grandparent
by Anonymous11 years ago
Yeah, I've met my mom's maternal grandparents, who both just celebrated their 100th birthdays. The rest have all passed away.
It would be so cool to be able to meet them because they'd be able to tell me so much about life in Bangladesh over 80 years ago.

My great-grandma is 87 and still alive. :3
by Anonymous11 years ago
Wow - a youngster!
by Anonymous11 years ago
Yeah, my family is kind of young in general. My maternal grandmother is only 57.
by Anonymous11 years ago
I think all of mine died in the Holocaust
by Anonymous11 years ago
were they Jews or Nazis or something else?
by Anonymous11 years ago
I believe my grandma's family on my dad's side was Jewish and I'm pretty sure the other ones were in work camps for disagreeing with the Nazi party or something of the like
by Anonymous11 years ago
I wonder if I have any Jewish relatives
I don't know much about my family history
I have no clue how I'd trace any of it
