Newspapers are one of the most trusted forms of media. I don't know if that means people trust newspapers more or that newspapers are actually less bias than other news sources. I will admit I trust a newspaper slightly more because newspapers don't have annoying commercials that say, "Scientists have made a new discovery that could lead to cancer. Find out what it is at 11!"

Newspapers are a dying entity. Their subscriptions have steadily been on the decline - and many are hanging on by a shoe string. Talk radio, the internet, and game changers like Glenn Beck are on the cutting edge of information and news.

And that is the sad reality of our knowledge. Very little is based on first hand information or accounts. We simply can not be everywhere at the same time observing and taking in all that occurs in our world. We are helplessly dependent on 2nd, 3rd, and so on accounts of pretty much everything. And that means OUR views and opinions are specifically influenced by and tainted by the views and opinions of others.
