Anyone who is "convinced" of anything is probably insane. That said, I do suspect there are lots of people who make exceptionally good guess about many things. Those may be educated guesses, or some poorly understood phenomena wrongly called "luck" or e.s.p. Like the story of the cat that knew who would die next in the nursing home. The cat probably had some sensitivity that we don't understand, that cat was not psychic; and the baby guesser in your office might be good at it but a baby's gender probably is not predictable based solely on the position of the baby //in utero// or of the womb in relation to the woman's abdomen.

I wonder if anyone can actually make good, somehow informed, guesses on the gender of an unborn child without medical testing. Just by looking at the mother like so many think they can.

The general notion for years and years has always been: if the baby is carried high it will be a girl, and if carried very low it will be a boy. Of course this is no science and is certainly not right all of the time. It is "right" often enough however to perpetuate the method of guessing. Anyone who really wants to know for sure however can get a simple test.
