+32 I personally don't believe America is as independent as it once was, but it is still more independent than many countries. So there is still plenty of room and cause for celebration. Amirite?

Answering your explanation, I don't think America is as strong as she once was. This country is on its downfall. "Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird."

I don't think America was ever "the greatest nation in the world" - what kind of bullshit is that? It is a good country and has had ups and downs. There are many aspects by which a country can be measured: Civil Liberty Social Equality Economy Land Mass Agriculture Arts Research and Development Military Strength Infrastructure Education Population etc. etc. We are certainly tops in some of those and not in others. We have never been tops in every single category all at the same time. We rate pretty high on the first four and probably on all but education, population and infrastructure right now. For example, as far as the economy goes most people don't realize that 53% of the total US stock market valuation was created from 1897 to 2009, the remaining 47% was created under the Obama administration; or that June marks 52 straight months of private sector job growth, the longest period of straight growth in American history. In the first half of this year alone the economy has added 1.4 million private sector jobs, an accomplishment not seen since Clinton was president. The fact that this President has had to fight tooth and nail against a conservative congress willing to destroy the economy simply as a means of besmirching the president image makes this achievement nearly miraculous. Despite what the right-wingers say this happened because this president was unwilling to be blocked by those who only wanted to make him look bad. It happened because he did not see fixing the American economy as a political weapon but as a patriotic duty. It happened because he made the most critical investments in American economy and American healthcare early by "cheating" the system and forcing through legislation that the Republicans almost choked on. It happened because of a president is willing to pay a high price in his reputation and political standing in order to accomplish what is best for the working AMericans and not for the bankers and the super rich. So yes the polls say he is the "worst president" in history. Well I will take these kinds of results from the "worst" president anytime. More people are employed today than there were at the end of the Bush administration, working peoples retirement plans are worth more now than they ever were under any previous president and achieving new highs every week. . You won't hear about this in your venerable press, of course. They have other important stories to cover, like Lindsey Lohan suing Grand Theft Auto, which Fox News and CNN spent several hours covering this morning.

You would get along perfectly well with Juan Williams and Alan Colmes. If your comments are correct (which I disagree 100% with), then you obviously believe that Obama's mentors are great Americans and people we should look up to and aspire to be like. Men such as Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis, Edward Said, Derrick Bell, Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky - to name a few of the more notables. Where you see Obama as a "knight in shining armor" and a great American, many (myself included) see him as a villainous dark knight who is extremely unpatriotic and borderline anti-American. Here is just 1 link to get you started in researching Obama's mentors. We become LIKE those we associate with, look up to, learn from, and respect as leaders. You have heard the saying "birds of a feather flock together," and yes, Obama is not above the process. His head has been filled with everything BUT a love for country (at least this one). I am simply amazed that you honestly find virtue and praise for a man of such low character and little success. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/editorials/2012/09/28/obamas-early-mentors-and-allies-shared-hostility-toward-west.html

Why? Why would I care about his mentors. We have term limits, he will be gone in 2 years. I won't even debate your nonsensical right wing propaganda. I have read both sides of the debate for the last 6 years and **both sides** offer nothing but utter //unadulterated// bullshit. Obama is not a "knight in shining armor" he is a human being. I just so-happen to agree with about 1/2 of his policies which is 10X as much as I agree with the crap that comes out of congress or SCOTUS; ninety five percent of which sounds like what I would expect to hear for the leadership of Saudi Arabia or Syria. In fact the vomit the is spewed by John Boehner, Eric Cantor and John Roberts makes Hassan Rouhani and Ali Khamenei look like level headed liberals. I honestly would rather live in Iran than in in country run by those three fucking bone-heads. I am sorry but this country is **__way__** better off after 6 years of Obama's "dark magic" this it would have been under either Romney or McCain, //immeasurably// better off.

This sounds highly opinionated to me. To believe it, I would have to believe what you are saying. I just can't. And I have no use for McCain, Boehner, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, or any other 2 faced hypocritical politician. It is not about party. It is all about character and honesty. There is so little of that these days that most people are not aware of what it looks like. In spite of his mentors, Obama has still proven to be a pathological liar, one who seeks to hide and cover up things rather than providing the transparency he promised, and a man who says one thing but does something entirely different. And if I am tainted or jaded with "right wing propaganda" then you are equally guilty of being the same by "left wing propaganda." You are not making this stuff up independent of any influences or news sources. But look on the bright side of things - if it were not for sources like FOX news, we would not know about half of the scandals our beloved leader has been surrounded by. But you can always trust and believe him when he tells you that they are all phony and there is not one shred of truth to any of them! If that is not fairy tale and bone headed, then I am not alive.

It is opinionated. I don't believe any of it (or anything at all wink ) I am completely under the influence of propaganda. We probably all are I am a liberal and always will be. I think people do what they believe is best, always. I don't need fox to tell me how fucked up everything is. I don;t need to know at all. It is obvious, and everybody completely misunderstands it, Fox, CNN, al Jazeera, BBC, everyone - because perception is flawed and knowledge is impossible. I am wrong about this and everything else, and so is everyone else. AND being nice to people is more fun than being a dick. Taking care of poor, hungry destitute people is nicer than letting them suffer. using tax dollars to pay for birth control and abortions is nicer than letting teen agers become pregnant, have babies, and live on welfare. Calling girls "sluts" is mean, always. deporting children is mean, even "gang-bangers", whatever they are. using words other people find offensive in front of them is rude.

But you say it with such fortitude that somebody just might be led to believe it. What then of those poor souls? Are they only getting what they deserve? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDqsgbtpDLk
