Conduct unbecoming an officer. Does this have any meaning in RL?

It used to, but the lines have gotten pretty blurry over the last decade or so.

It did in my family. Both my grandfather and my brother were honorable police officers.

It should, but it's diminishing, or so people think. Even in the military some officers have been a disgrace to their uniform and their country. This guy comes to mind.

That's interesting. He is a disgrace after serving his country for 30 years and resigns, but this guy is your hero:

Just an observation. :)

Will....did he actually serve "us"...or just use us all as a vehicle to take? For me, and I'm sure for you, when we think of those certain individuals in the military who were the epitome of leadership....and then we blink the name Bill Clinton...what comes to mind? I know what does for me, some of which I'd be banned for posting photos of....

He's not my hero, but why bring him into this post?

It could have been JFK. They all did the same thing but only one of them resigned in disgrace. Makes me wonder why.

What he did was worse than having an affair. If not Nixon then I don't know of any president resigning in disgrace.

Yes! So I have to state that if you are a veteran, you should carry your military values with you, honor, discipline, humility, confidence, and duty should not be dropped and forgotten. Once an officer always an officer, it takes a special person to serve and an even more special person to carry it with them forever

Yes. When you leave honor behind. Or place the "protect and serve" motto in your back pocket as an afterthought.. I would never want to live life as a Cop day after day. The things they experience.. Everybody starts looking like a criminal real fast. Those who choose this position in society, serve it honorably, and continue to "Protect and Serve" should be celebrated. Humans will continue to be humans. I don't look forward to robotic police officers.

Agree. But what might help make a cop's life better? Extended vacations?
