Times like this I wish there was a maybe button.

I think if you need to change someone in order for a marriage to work you shouldn't have married that person in the first place.

Not true! Men are too stuck in their ways...they need a jolt once in a while.

Men don't generally reassess themselves like women do...so they remain wearing their gd college jacket long after they are done college. Grow up.

I prefer older men just for the fact they are usually over their drugs and booze stage. A lot of guys under the age of 30 are totally goofy to me.

Lol... I think we might be talking about slightly diff ages... Altho I wouldn't mind a guy like that around...be refreshing from people who think they know where they are going and are sitting there judging you... People can get so cynical.

I had a guy in his early twenties. We never had **** per se.

It took v little to make him happy...dates were not performance-based...he was also quick to do as I said. I miss Gil. He was stoned a lot but that made it easier to be myself... I could issue a sharp reply...and he'd just nod away...

We drifted apart. Everyone needs a variety of people in their lives and I would have liked to have kept his acquaintance - hindsight being 20/20....

I agree with most of that. I think that when you're in a relationship, there's compromise, and part of that compromise means that both of you - or the three of you change a little, for better and for worse as you take on new aspects and have to give a few things up along the way. The question is whether you all are happy with the changes the compromises brings?

I don't agree with what you said, any part of it. It's a big "Nope" to all of it. I should have explained better.

I don't think men(any partner, actually, being man or woman) are accessories in a marriage, and that the couple automatically represents each other. Even as a couple and married, they are still each one a different person.
The whole change each other is a must, and all people do that - no, that's not what I see happening. Most people decide to accommodate themselves, or as a couple. It's not one forcing another on it. That attitude will normally break the marriage.

Why did you refereed where I come from?

Everyone always says that to the point that I don't understand it anymore.

What do people mean by "sense of humour"? Everyone has some sense of humour. I had a post about it... Lol...

Everyone knows what a joke is... Hello? Knock Knock...have you heard the one about...etc...there are many jokes about...

It might be more about someone getting to know you and getting you...than knowing how to pass off a great knock-knock joke.

Someone who has a lighter attitude toward life - you guys need that with all that rain - someone that can just lift you up and change your POV in an instant... Someone who can look at you and just know what you need...

Perhaps "Sense of Humour" is becoming a cliché - an easy and acceptable comment to make that needs no eplanation - everyone nods sagely and totally understands...lol... But maybe it now needs to be explained in more individual detail...
