Drunks are rarely funny. They just think they are. TV and movies are pure fantasy the way they glorify booze and drugs.

The first major movie to stress the downside of booze addiction was 1945's "The Lost Weekend" which won 4 Oscars. The only thing remotely funny about the movie was how drunk the lead actor could get on $10

And, in Canada at least, there were two entrances to most taverns: Men's as well as Ladies and Escorts... LOL

Maybe I should've patented fire, right after I invented it... Now it's open source and the history has forgotten about poor old me.

I remember when most houses did not have color TVs.
The first microwave ovens were sold after I was a teenager.
We made home movie with real film and had to take them to the photomat to be developed.
Music was recorded on reel-2-reel (before cassettes).
Cars did not have seat belts.
Roller skates needs a key to tighten them to your shoes.
Telephones had dials - and 'party lines'.

I'm so old I remember everything you listed, and also besides recording music on a big clumsy tape recorder, the pre=recorded music was on 78 RPM discs which required a 78 RPM turntable to play them. And not only did cars not have seat belts, most cars did not have automatic transmissions or air conditioning (and you even had to order a heater if you wanted heat--those heaters were only offered in cars sold in the northern states).
