Anyone have a favorite drummer (band member or not) from the past or present, regardless of the genre of music?..Care to post a clip of your favorite music cut with them playing (solo or accompanying a band - doesn't matter)?

Explained by JFHowler...

I tend to like the style of Chris Layton who has been best known for being the drummer in Stevie Ray Vaughan's band "Double Trouble", yet has recorded and toured with numerous other bands and artists all over the world such as Arc Angels, Storyville, Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and many, many more. He is just ONE of my favorites among many...Care to post yours?

My top 3 drummers are John Bonham, Neil Peart and Phil Rudd.....Bonham and Peart for obvious reasons, and Rudd because I love AC/DC, and as a teenager thought he was the coolest looking drummer smoking a butt while playing the drums lol!!!

I remember the Corrs.

Good choice...Are they still together?

Were they from Ireland?

Great choices IMO, with all three having very distinguishable styles in rock drumming.

Rudd always had a heavy, simple backbeat/groove that was as vital to AC/DC's music as any other instrument/vocal in the band..Never fancy..Never technical...But laid down right where it needed to be in order to give "weight" (according to Angus Young, lead guitarist), to the song.

Thanks for the comment.

Rudd, even though being replaced and then coming back many times over the years AFTER they hit it big in 1980...was AC/DC drummer since 1975 being a huge factor in creating their iconic sound with his drumming. <iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_gOdUmVy3S0" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Love Ginger Baker...

As a kid, I remember seeing Cream on some variety show (Smothers Brothers?) back in the 60's.
That was the first time I ever remember seeing a double bass drum setup and Baker was behind it.

Appreciate the choice.

Criss was the original KISS drummer, was he not?
