Who are your favourite '70s icons?

Explained by astral_queen...

Stevie Nicks, Chaka Khan, Tammy Wynette, David Bowie, and Donna Summer are some of my faves. This doesn't have to just be music icons....There's also Diane Von Furstenberg and Jacqueline Bisset, John Travolta, etc.

There are any number from that period. We immediately think of Rock, as do I many times. However, among my picks are a couple of icons who's voices were like life. They collaborated on many songs and for me, represent what the word "artist" really meant. I'm talking about Emmy Lou Harris and Linda Ronstadt. Where Emmy Lou's inquisitive musical nature truly transcends her forays in to music's manyforld genres, Linda's powerful voice began with the Stone Ponies where her voice is so recognizable to later on where, she sadly over time was slowly silenced, robbed of her wonderful voice due to complications from Parkinson's....her last successful harmonies together with Emmy Lou, and Dolly Parton's work with "Trio." Here's to them.

There were so many music icons between the late 60's and early 70's that defined a "time" and an era. Sometimes I think 1965 - 1975 should be considered a decade of it's own.
