I agree with that statement very much so! I give a lot of my heart and soul to people when I can and I'm happy with life!

Yes, totally agree with that statement. Some days I feel like giving more and other days less, but I'm always willing to give.

Even without a heart "says the Tin Man." (hehe)

Just one of H. Jackson Brown, Jr quotes, from his "Life's Little Instruction Book" I believe.

Here's a link to 1532 good ideas of his -

I liked it too. I'm thinking of printing it out and putting it somewhere where I'll see it daily - try reading one a day to really absorb it. Good life lessons I think.

being a caregiver to the elderly with dementia there is no greater joy then to see the people you take care and how their eyes show happiness when they no longer can speak....I love my job!

Symply - You are doing God's work.
Many of my customers are nursing homes. So, I see the patients, don't spend any time with them or interact, but it tears my heart out. I imagine what they were like not so long ago, before their disease took their minds.

I couldn't do what you do. Your patients are lucky to have you!

Thank you Budwick, the way I see it is if you love what you do it's not a job...Words can't express the people I have taken care of over the years but the memories will be with me forever. I've had the best history lessons that no schools could possibly teach...

Ohhh, I hadn't thought about that aspect - the stories they have to tell. I'm 67 but I enjoy listening to older folks. They have a lot of insight.

an example of your statement in Action:
Ortega, 85 & Bernardo Jaramillo, 70

"When I was wounded in Vietnam, my brothers in arms, they never left me or the other guys behind," Jaramillo told The Rio Grande Sun. "The reason I do this is, they never let me down, and I don't intend to let 'em down. I don't care from what war, we gotta serve them, because they served us."

Ortega has driven 200,000 miles on the route, across 10,000 hours of work for Disabled American Veterans

Jaramillo has donated 5,000 hours, driving 100,000 miles for the program.

Ortega and Jaramillo hope to find a third volunteer driver, so they can offer rides four days a week. Currently, they can only transport people on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

Please consider making a donation to Sunny Skyz and help our mission to make the world a better place.

How can anyone expect to hold onto or receive anything if their hands are already occupied. There is more joy in giving than receiving, even being able to gratitude and bringing a smile to someone else, allows the giver to share in the glee of the receiver. Give more and get more of the things that all find actually matter in life.
