We've had two full weeks of +20 degrees C in most parts of Finland. Today, another +25 C day... Sweating like a proper hog. How has the summer started out in your part of the world?

It was around 30 here yesterday (85 F), should get to 25 today (77 F), and is supposed to hit 32.2222 tomorrow (90 F). This after the coldest April in memory. No spring, winter right into summer.

Oh, where are you at? ... Just wondering where it got north of 100 at. I just hadn't heard of any surprising heat like that so I'm guessing it's somewhere that normally expected to get hot like that.

Austin, Texas. And that isn't normal for this early in the year. Usually those are mid to late June through to late August temperatures.

Granted, it snowed here 3 times last winter. That's crazy weather even by Texas standards. lol

Well it might be unusual for your areas, but I think if you say Texas around most parts, people think very warm rightfully or wrongly, they think warm. So that's why I'm not surprised a bigger deal hasn't been made of it.

Yeah, you're right though, it is early for that kinda heat... you might be in for a long hot summer if that keeps up.

I still found it very funny, the NFL is extremely reluctant to get give Northern teams a Super Bowl out of fear of snow and other problems during February.

Yet (as far as I know) in the few times that they have done it, they've only had one bad snow storm hit.... and when they had the Super Bowl in Dallas an Ice Storm hit them that week... so just as many cold/icey Super Bowls in Dallas as the North (hehe)

There's a saying... If you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait 5 minutes.

It rings true. I also though of extreme heat whenever I though of Texas, I also thought mostly of the desert. I was surprised when I moved to central TX that it isn't so much desert after all. We sit on what's called the green-belt. It's where the green farming side of TX intersects with the dry desert side. That combination makes for some interesting weather indeed :)

It's the only place I'd live in Texas, for sure. Low crime, better schools, less intrusive govt. apparatus and it is unique in its cuisine, culture, people etc.

Also, it has some of the best natural landscapes. There are endless, well-kept parks, people don't just throw their shit everywhere. Zilker, Hamilton Pool etc. make great daily getaways. The parks in the hills are great for camping.

Besides, the city reminds me of NOLA and is a relatively short drive back home to NOLA.

Yep... well, sorta. I ran away to NOLA, almost permanently, at age 13. I lived there with brief exception (a year here and there) until Katrina. Had to take up habitation away from the coast as I have a kid now and don't want him to lose everything to a storm.

That and I found it undesirable to have him grow up in one of the murder capitals. Too much heroin and too much death, to be frank.

It's not summer yet, it's still spring. Temps are around 38C. Summer is when they go over 40C. Then comes August, when relative humidity goes over 20%.

Yuma, AZ, Thermal, CA, and Indio, CA take turns being the hottest city in the nation.
