Actuallly, thunder is the result of lightning, which is potentially dangerous. So yes, there is a reason to be scared of thunder.

but with out lightning there is no thunder also when you hear thunder it means that a flash of lightning is gone

The bay that is my backyard makes thunder much louder, which makes my house shake. I also don't like loud noises in general.

first of all, you don't need a reason to be scared of something, that's why some people call it an irrational fear. i don't mean to sound annoying, i know your just trying to make a point, but second of all, some people are just startled by the loud noise thunder makes. i mean, imagine your just minding your own business then all of the sudden: BOOM CRASH!!! that can be scarry for some people!

I get it, loud noises are startling. But, come the fuck on! Yeah, you'll jump when someone claps near your ear, or a balloon pops unexpectedly. But, being afraid of it? Legitimately AFRAID of it? That's just you either asking for attention, or being a big baby. It's a THUNDER CLAP, not a fucking T-Rex. Lightning you can be scared of. That's normal, it's dangerous, yadda, yadda. But, there's plenty of times that I've seen lightning before I've heard thunder. So, your arguments are moot. Thunder is just a sound. Not a revolver pointed at your head, or a chainsaw cutting through your mid-section. Suck it up.

People are scared of different things. i was scared of thunder until i was about 9 and i would feel sick for days after a thunderstorm. some people are scared of sharks but i think they are beautiful. i love spiders and snakes. some people are scared of them. what are you scared of big boy?
