Oh, get over it.

"Get over it" "GET OVER THIS, BITCH" *punch*

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Unless you're being cheered on by your family and friends in a hurdle race. In that case, "GET OVER IT!" would be quite apt.

Sometimes, being told by someone else to get over it is what you need to move on past something.

But someone shouldn't just rudely and plainly say, "OH, GET OVER IT, YOU WHINER." For example, if someone gets a bad grade, you should tell them that they can learn from it, they can get through this, and everybody makes a blunder or too sometimes. You think therapists, when counseling a rape/kidnapping victim, just say "Get over it, you crybaby!"? Of course not. Because that's stupid. Billie Jean is not my lover.

You are right, however, I was talking about the kind of situation when you know that you really should get over it, but can't bring yourself to do it because you have no motivation to move on and want to cling to the past. At those times, you really need someone else to put their foot down and MAKE you move on. Smockers is...I don't know.

I am so over this post.

unfortunately... a lot of people do need to get over it.

Ugh. I remember this douche ex of mine: "Build a bridge and get the fuck over it," he was extremely hot and extremely douche-y.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If someone is a douche, that pretty much automatically takes away any hotness factor.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's why I just say "why don't you cry about it?" instead.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But your parents are dead!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

so I can't tell people to cry about it?? That's something people should cry about... My parents' death.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"NO!!! The pain... The visions... The urges... MAKE THEM STOP!!!" "Get over it."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I always retort with, "Easier said than done."
