+427 Sorry "men", but your dream of you being the only one working to make money while you demand your wife to stay home and cook and take care of the kids and make you "sammiches" just doesn't work anymore. It's almost impossible with the economy these days. Get over yourself and quit treating your wife like she's your "property", amirite?

My girlfriend WANTS to be a stay at home mom.. Not because she is lazy but she doesn't want to leave her kids with someone she doesn't knows. And this is actually very within means if you get a college education and a good job. POST = FAIL

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well good for her, I wasn't applying that to all women who stay home. I was talking about men who demand their wives to do that, not women who want to do that. I know there are a lot of women who want to do that. YOUR COMPREHENSION OF THE POST=FAIL

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You said it is mens dream to do that, and then said it couldn't happen because of the economy. Both parts of your post were wrong and stupid. Say whatever you want after this, I don't discuss things with idiots. Bye.

I didn't say it was all men's dreams, I said it was "men's" dreams, there's a difference between a real man and a "man". And it's cool you don't discuss things with idiots, cuz I'm not an idiot, I don't discuss things with idiots either, and I'm still discussing this with you so therefore I don't know you so I'm not gonna call you an idiot right away. We may disagree on some things but it doesn't make either one of us an idiot. If you don't want to further discuss this then that's fine, but you don't have to call me an idiot when 5 minutes ago is the first time you've ever associated with me. Anyway, I completely understand your girlfriend's reasons for not wanting to leave her kids with people she doesn't know, my best friend is the same way. Peace

You should not be so sexist.

I would love to be a housewife or stay at home mom. I would love to have a husband that could support me/our family, and that wanted me to do what I want, which is not work. Call me old fashioned but I would rather make sure the house is clean and have dinner on the table when my husband got home, then have to work 40 hours a week.

just wanted to throw this out there, I mean, mostly, the 'sammich' thing is a joke, and no one actually demands it, also, having a wife who stays at home, cooks, and cleans, isn't treating her like she's property. It's a marriage, I mean, if a man is out doing work as a production manager in the IT department or whatever, and works from 7 to 9 and makes six figures or whatever, it isn't too much to ask a wife to not worry about working and if she could just make it easier for him at home, yenno?

wow make me a sammich.

Did you hear?! The Soviets have cut off all acess to West Berlin! Oh, wait my bad. Like the poster, I seem to think that it is still the 1950's.

Annoying thing about this post #1: It's directed at all men. Annoying thing about this post #2: It's insinuating that nobody could want to be a stay-at-home-mom. Annoying thing about this post #3: It screams egotistical better-than-thou feminism. Women didn't fight for equality. They fought for superiority. And, God, as a girl who would actually like to be a stay-at-home mother (something that's now looked down upon as being "lazy" because of mindsets like this), I am freaking SICK of hearing about it.

"Women didn't fight for equality. They fought for superiority?" Is that how you're interpreting the post or real life?
