+161 If they can't predict the weather for the following day, how can they predict global warming, amirite?

Students, class is now in session. METEOROLOGISTS predict what's going to happen the next day. They use sophisticated computer models, years of experience, and even gut feeling to make a forecast. but, weather doesn't care about how good they are. Different weather is caused by tons of factors, and a tiny change in one factor could mean totally different weather. a change in a degree could mean snow instead of rain. a change in the wind direction could mean a temperature of 95, not 85 degrees. NOTE- the "weathermen" on the TV and radio are usually simply "weather reporters", as in they get a forecast from someone else and just assume said forecast is right. Some actually are educated in weather though, and know what they are talking about.

CLIMATOLOGISTS predict what will happen in the next 2, 10, or even next 100 years. They have noticed a large increase in average temperature that looks like it won't stop anytime soon. But of course, it's probably natural. The CO2 bullshit everyone feeds you is all hype. All it is is a physically proven greenhouse gas that we've spewed a few hundred million years' worth into the atmosphere (/sarcasm).

Why give a fuck about this so called global warming? Well, it's supposed to produce epic droughts, floods, storms, heat waves, cold spells, and other extreme weather events that will fuck up the social structure, economy, and our way of life in the coming years. Has there been in increase in events over the years? Well, so far in 2011, the US has had 7 billion dollar disasters already (the record is 9 set in 2008), and we aren't close to the peak of hurricane season yet. Has the world felt effects of global warming yet? Well, rising food prices you hear so much about (caused by floods/droughts in china, russia, australia, pakistan, and the united states) were part of the reason so many people in middle eastern countries revolted this year.

IN CONCLUSION: Please amirite, don't get deceived by BS posts like this. We are young, the next generation of the world. It scares me that so many people are YYAing this post. Global warming is already the worlds biggest problem, you just haven't heard about it yet.

BTW- climate change is a much more appropriate term for what's going on, because global warming just sounds cute and cuddly, as if we want it to happen.

Thank you. Thank you for being so darn smart and actually saying it.

I agreed because it said "global warming," which has already been disproved. It snowed here today, and that's not normal for this time of year, even in the north. Climate change is obviously happening. I personally question just how much human influence is involved.

Please tell me this is a troll.

No. You can't argue the existence of global warming, or call it climate change, whatever you want. You can argue its causes. But not it's existence or the path that it will likely take, which CAN be predicted.

America never fails too entertain.

You're right, global warming doesn't exist. But climate change does. Climate change exacerbated by humans. And if you want proof of THAT just take a look at the increase in natural disasters.

Maybe if I focus REALLY hard, your brain will start working. First of all, CLIMATE CHANGE isn't something solely being predicted, it is a general consensus of all the data taken from the last several decades. Global temperature has risen at an unprecedented rate for quite a while, and this could have catastrophic effects on the global climate due to rising sea levels, increased severity of storms, population explosions of insects and parasites, etc. Get your facts strait.
