+248 The constant stereotypes of homeschoolers are ridiculous. Most people seem to think that all homeschoolers have no friends, no social life, get to do whatever they want and never go outside. This is not true and people need to open their minds, amirite?

do i believe all homeschooled kids are like this? no, but there is one girl who has no idea how to act around people. she believes life is like TV, you can tell. it's her mom's fault though...she's so sheltered. she may not even know there's such thing as sex or drugs...lmao

i know a girl like that! i went to camp with her... during the school year the only person she saw besides her mom was the girl scout troop she was in, only for an hour every Wednesday or something like that. On a side note, my boyfriend is homeschooled and has more friends than i do.

That's the mom's fault, sadly.

Amen!!!!!!!! I was homeschooled and we do fit some stereotypes (for instance, I have 7 siblings :P ) But, not all of them! We have social skills, OMG! And four of us are in college now too, doing just fine. :) Homeschool stereotypes are just like any other kind, there are those who fit them but there are a heck of a lot more who're sick of being labeled.

I know! I've always been homeschooled and have so many friends and I'm always out with them! That stereotype is so stupid. If you believe that, go suck it.

I know! It's so stupid. Yes, I've been homeschooled all my life. No, I'm not a Jesus Freak. No, I am not extremely sheltered. Yes, I have friends. No, I don't have some mental health problem. Yes, I know how to act in social situations.

The stereotypes are only there because they make sense! But they're not true for most of the homeschooled people. You would have to be homeschooled to know! It's like a wives tale or rumor; there's no evidence but you believe it anyway.

i was homeschooled up until high school. for those four years, and this last year i was in college, whenever i would say i was homeschooled everyone would be like, OMG you don't act like it at all! i would have never guessed

I've been homeschooled since 6th grade because of autism, and I DO have friends, although I admit I don't like going outside. I don't get to do whatever I want, that's just stupid. Homeschooler stereotypes, like all stereotypes, are just stupid ways to seperate people into groups. Very stupid ways.

i'm homeschooled and all of my friends are public schoolers and i STILL know more people than them. haha

2 of my bestfriends are homeschooled and i lovee them but i think theres definitely a difference between us. theyre a lot more modest and conservative, and thats coming a public schooler whose pretty modest and conservative as well. theyre really nice though and ive yet to meet a snobby, stuck up homeschooler like we have at public schools. id never want to be homeschooled though.

I totally used to think this! But I found out that most are really involved with churches homeschooled kids even have sports teams!

Wish I had been homeschooled! School wastes soooo much time, could have learned that material so much sooner and graduated younger.

I'm a junior in highschool and ive been homeschooled all my life and i have a ton of friends both public schoolers and homeschooled that are all really close. Actually, most of my girl homeschooled friends (including me) were homeschooled because they're models, dancers, or athletes and most of my guy homeschool friends are too smart for public school or athletes as well. We're homeschooled because we wouldn't have time to do everything we do if we had to go to school for 7 hours a day and then come home and do 4+ hours of homework.

The most popular people i know have been home schooled their whole lives
