I would rather take a political risk in pursuit of peace, than to risk peace in pursuit of politics.

Explained by Maze...

Constructive dialog between the United States and Russia affords the opportunity to open new pathways toward peace and stability in our world. I would rather take a political risk in pursuit of peace, than to risk peace in pursuit of politics. -President Donald Trump, July 16 2018

I think Trump was on target with that line.
I think he has America's best interests in mind in what he says and does.
I think the number of people that think that way is growing every single day!

Maybe that explains the over the top reaction to what appeared to me to be a rather benign meeting between Trump and Putin.

Hilarious. That's why he moved the embassy in Israel right; a political risk in the name of peace?

That's why he bombed Syria after campaigning on that being a road to WW3, because he wanted to take a political risk in favor of peace?

Is there anyone who even believes he came up with that talking point? Just wow.

At the moment, the world is more peacful than at any time, bombing Syria is not really true, he just bombed areas where chemical weapons were believed to have been stored and since then, Syria has been quiet...a good thing

That's false on its face. Shaking the hands of a few dictators and snapping a few pictures does not equate to peace.

Just days ago Israel launched its largest attack on Gaza since the 2014 war. In May they launched a massive counter-attack on Iranian forces in Syria. It was considered one of their most extensive attacks in decades.

And no, he didn't just bomb chemical weapons in Syria. Civilian deaths in Iraq and Syria have hit record levels under Trump. Credible independent assessments have suggested that as much as three quarters of all the civilian deaths in Iraq and Syria since we declared war on ISIS 4 years ago, have been the result of Trump's bombings and he's only been in office a little over a year.

Tell the Rohingya refugees about how peaceful the world is.

I hate to tell you where you have that fork. The embassy was moved to the capital of Israel.Where it should have been years ago. This is the only President to have the guts to do so.Were we supposed to watched the people of Syria being gassed ?And do nothing about it? I guess a Liberal would.

Having the guts do what? Something the Israeli's could've done ages ago without our intervention into their country?

He watched thousands of Syrians helplessly burn in the same manner while making those statements, far more than when he acted. He did it for a political distraction... a very obvious one.

The was the liberal policy! Hillary? The evil mistress of Satan himself? Recall her? That was her policy position. Congrats, you're officially a soulless liberal. Mozzletoff

Me? I don't he or you know what you want, you just hate those who do and either wag your finger at everyone else or bobble your heads up and down in agreement with everything he says regardless of how stupid and hypocritical. Even going so far as to defend Hillary Clinton's policy positions when he's the executioner.

Nice try at deflecting from the point.

Syrian intervention was the liberal position, specifically, Hillary Clinton's policy. Trump doesn't give a shit about civilian casualties and neither do you, you'd defend him regardless. He could take up the democratic platform tomorrow and his lemmings would line up to rationalize it. lmfao

I never said Israel had anything to do with our embassy policy, I said they needn't our permission to do what they could have done ages ago which is change their policies. You're attempting to take my broad statement and reassign meaning to it. Our intervention into Israeli policy hurts the country, it doesn't help it and it doesn't foster peace.

(And Maze, you know that, but your partisanship is getting the better of you.)

"Syrian intervention was the liberal position, specifically, Hillary Clinton's policy."

And what a wonderful improvement arming rebels in Syria made to the quality of life of people in Syria. Why, people are flocking there from all over the world... no wait, Syrians are fleeing all over the world to escape the quagmire created by that policy. Good thing it was the only country Hillary and Co. ruined... except for Libya where she laughed about the brutal murder of Gaddafi and left the country ruled by warlords. Libya had been a pretty stable country, women were educated and went in public unveiled, generous social programs... now it's run by warlords and there are literal slave markets. Good job guys, way to look out for the wellbeing of the Libyan people.

"Humanitarian intervention" what a f**king tragic farce. The left's policies sometimes look good on paper, but it seems like whenever the rubber meets the road it's a bloody nightmare.
