The 57th quadrennial presidential election was held on this date, coinciding with Senate elections where 33 races occured, as well as House of Representatives elections to elect the members for the 113th Congress. This election year will also encompass thirteen state and territorial governors' races, many state and territorial legislature races, special elections, and various other state, territorial, and local races.

I think we should all have to pay a flat tax. All of us in the middle class in the US have to pay a disproportionate amount of money while those in the upper income bracket pay little or none. It's just fair if we all pay the same.

If there is a tie in the electoral votes for the presidency, the president is selected by the House, and the Vice President by the Senate. In the case of our current political atmosphere in the USA, the Senate being dominated by Democrats and the House by Republicans, if there was a tie, our Vice President would end up as Biden and our President as Romney. While this could potentially be utterly disastrous, it would still be very interesting and slightly amusing to witness, amirite?
