Whilst this advice is more frequently used in a business marketing sense, I think it can be well applied to establishing friendships/relationships. The advice to ‘be yourself’ may not be entirely helpful when people aren’t interested in what you are ‘selling’. There is always room to work on our flaws and provide a better version of ourselves, amirite?
