It's annoying when people talking about their religion get bad feedback on their opinion because they were being pushy/obnoxious/inaccurate or whatever reason but they blame people disagreeing with them on people just hating their religion. It's almost disrespectful to use your religion as a scapegoat instead of putting the responsibility on yourself where it should be, amirite?
People quoting the bible in defense of the legitimacy of the existence of a god is like me quoting Dr. Seuss in defense of the legitimacy of the existence of foxes wearing socks and living in boxes. It's circular reasoning and it's not convincing, amirite?
We shouldn't judge any religion or any set of beliefs by those belonging to such a group that constantly say offensive things. The offensive people who belong to a certain group too often influence the image the group has, but this is most likely because they are usually the ones who make the biggest deal out of it. This applies not just to religion, but to atheists and people who subscribe to a particular diet for nutritional or ethical reasons.
