The early democrats and early republicans were essentially flipped back in their early days; the early democrats were basically todays republicans and vice versa. The ideals of the two parties were, for the most part, that is.
It is totally unjustified to say something like this about EITHER party simply because of who generally consisted of the parties way before their time.
It's like calling a man a hypocrite for thinking his wife should be allowed to do more than just stay at home and clean, just because there were men in the PAST who thought totally different.

except being gay IS a choice. so is being straight. all emotion is a choice. there are people who are "naturally" attracted to small children, does that make it "not a choice" when they molest them?

But they don't even know me, they're making a snap judgement off of one belief then labeling me a "homophobe". Is isn't that discrimination too? Just because I think something is not a reason to label me and persecute me. Just like Homosexuals should not be persecuted either. They deserve love and freedom just like the rest of us and I know that. I just disagree with their choices.

Anon, aren't you discriminating against me right now? If it's about less rights then don't I have a right to my opinion which you are attempting to tell me I cannot have?

Sometimes. I got pretty pissed when I heard this lady compare gay people to heroin addicts. And this other lady think that gay people aren't allowed at our private boarding school...mainly because of their ignorance. Both of these people are Mormons though, so thats what they were raised on or whatever

Creatures from another world, only statues when you see them. Lonely assassins, they used to be called. No one quite knows where they came from but they are as old as the universe, or very nearly. They have survived this long because they have the perfect defense system, they are quantum locked. They don't exist when they are being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature they freeze into rock. No choice, it's a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing they literally turn to stone. And you can't kill a stone. Of course a stone can't kill you either, but then you turn your head away. And you blink. And oh yes it can. That's why they cover their eyes. Their not weeping, they can't risk looking at each other. Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. Loneliest creatures in the universe. And I'm sorry. I'm very, very sorry. But it's up to you now. Your life could depend on this. Don't blink, don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast, faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, don't turn away, and don't blink. Good luck.

No. If everyone's colors were different, lets say your purple was my green, we wouldn't know just from speaking to the person about any given object because you would have grown up thinking whatever color they spoke is the color you see because you all learned the same names for the individual way we see colors. But if you sat down and asked a person "is purple similar to blue", if your blue was my yellow, the answer would be no. If it was all different in your head, your answers would be different, the results would be different. If my red was your green, my orange was your blue, my yellow was your purple, my green was your orange, your rainbow would go green blue purple orange, and the colors don't run smoothly into the next one like they do with the roy g biv rainbow.

Besides that, colors are perceived the same way. Yellow, orange, red are all warm. Blue, purple, black, gray, are all cool. Colors also affect people in the same way. Red makes you hungry, yellow makes you want to be quick, red and white is the most noticeable color combination which is why it was chosen for stop signs. If everyone says "warm" (without any prevoceived notion of a list of warm and cool colors, just

the colors would run just as smooth and they would make sense where they are placed. warm and cool colors might mean different things in such a case but it would work perfectly in your own head to compare with one another seemlessly

If you can apply the same general outline and rules and tests to every color with everyone's interpretation of it, it is impossible for every one to interrupt it differently when everyone's results come out the same.

We know that a lot of people see pink as white, and green as pink when they have color blindnesss. If people saw this "backward rainbow" (whatever that is) and the primary colors looked different to everyone, we wouldn't know this. I can't respond to anything else because it makes no sense. Even without understanding rod and cone structure, you can use simple logic to figure out your blue is not my pink, because we would all agree pink is similar to red, and blue is not. We all agree that black is the darkest and white is the lightest. We all agree your orange is not my purple, because we all agree yellow is similar to orange, but yellow is not similar to purple. You can do this with all the colors. As for testing this backward rainbow, we all agree that indigo is at the bottom, indigo has a cool tint, and the colors at the top have a warm tint.

But in that doesn't mean the my yellow isn't your purple... the theory cannot be proven or completely rejected on the simple fact that we don't know. If you think clearly about the theory with an open mind you can realize that perhaps the reason we can all relate on the color scale is because our brain makes sense of the difference and alters the spectrum accordingly. The colors you see make sense to you because you have seen them your whole life, and the same goes for me and mine. You and I can agree on the name of a color but that doesn't mean the color is the same. We call the colors what we do because that's all we know.

That sucks :/ but I'm in this situation right now. This guy was full-on flirting with me, had his hands all over me and everything, and then all of a sudden he's too busy with school and work to go hang out even though I've completely fallen for him. ** "games", honestly, I wish he'd just tell me to ** off if he doesn't like me, at least that way I'd know.
