Ha ha my friend and I figured it to be pronounced like yuck-wel-up-ton, I think. And yes, he does mix it with some modernism types. The thing I like best is that his art is so unique. I've never heard the term quasi-realism before though. Does it mean to be based on a realistic sort of idea but the coloring and other techniques are more surreal or. . . ?

I love native art! And the legends. I've tried a little of my own. Have you ever heard of Lawrence Paul Yuxwelupton? His art is mainly political orientated, but it is so beautiful.
