Don't tell spoiled adopted children what to do.

It's not you're job... it's their adoptive parents. If their adoptive parents failed at disciplining them, that's their problem.

Why would you claim to start for profit? Nobody's marketing technique is, "we're a profit organization." It's always 'non-profit'. Just make your profits and do the good you want. If you want to advertise the good you're doing to try and gain more customers, then do it.

Also, a company that's 'non-profit' isn't necessarily exempt from making a profit.

1) Buy a house in college rather than rent one... rent is just throwing your money away.

2) Utilize your business knowledge and buy that one website you frequent when it goes up for sale.

Sad that people don't demand lower prices or else they refuse to eat that food? Maybe, but that's how it works. Supply and demand.

Do you mean hack the game for your benefit? Why would it be bad? I mean if you get as frustrated with games as I do it's probably not a bad idea.

I don't understand humanity sometimes. We try to promote "natural" things like organic food and not polluting the atmosphere with CO2 emissions, then we go and do unnatural things like try to clone ourselves or bring back extinct species.

did you try "how to get your roommates to do their dishes" tips from the Internet?

I know if I told him he'd do it because he's not one to make confrontation just like me and he's a nice guy. Rather than tell him, I've always just went ahead and cleaned them despite him saying, "hey man, you didn't have to do that." hoping he would get the hint without me telling him. I've had other roommates before who didn't seem to learn how to do dishes and when confronted about it they'd get all pissed.

Yeah because it was just a few people out of all of humanity that just "invented" it.

Exactly.. what are they gonna do with all those coffee mugs that have the Amirite Guy on them?

But as far as the font goes, at least it's not Comic Sans.

See that green plate? That's mine. See that other stuff? Roommate's... and to be fair, his girlfriend's too.

It's not like all the scientists were working on the mars rovers. It's a persons choice that determines how they spend their lives. You can't possibly give out that more people didn't choose biochemical research. Are you yourself working on a cure for cancer?

Equally, there's a (admittedly tiny) chance that the mars rover, or any other space mission, could discover something that could help lead to a cure for something you've mentioned.

Also, this point's been made already, but we have a cure for the common cold. Bed-rest and extra vitamins are the best you can do. The runny-nose and worn-down feeling and all the other symptoms are either reactions to, are part of the process of your body fighting off a foreign contaminant.

Not that I'm discrediting their research, but like with any statistics you have to look at all factors that come into play. You have to dig around and find any other potential things that could have possibly influenced the results.

And of course an 80 cent raise in minimum wage will have a different impact than suddenly raising it to $15/hour (which is what some McDonald's workers in New York are demanding).

Me too. But why are you against it? Most people that I talk to that are against the death penalty are surprised when they hear my reasoning for being against it too (because it costs more money to have a prisoner on death row and kill them than the cost to keep a prisoner for life.)

In response to “Me too. But why are you against it? Most...

Various reasons...

1) There are some people in society I do think would be better off dead. The problem is who am I to judge who deserves to die and who doesn't? If I'm not a proper judge then why should anyone else be?

2) Innocent until proven guilty. A lot of times, there's not substantial evidence that a person committed a murder and many are put to death only to be found innocent years later when it's too late. This is not proper justice.

3) Putting a murderer to death doesn't solve anything. It doesn't bring the victims back to life. It doesn't teach the murderer a lesson because they'll be dead. It clearly doesn't stop other murderers happening. It teaches "don't get caught" rather than "taking another life is bad".

It only serves as an act of revenge of people affected (or justice as you put it). It also teaches youth that killing another human is better than trying to help them. Death good and justified. Rehabilitation too much work. We no try help stop action. We just bash with club. Bash with club fix problem.

Really? Well, man have i been misled, i'm just so glad that economics is such a predictable practice. I'm sure that there are no charts that indicate the exact opposite of what you just said. Even if there were we can just ignore them, because the only thing that really matters is the data that supports our beliefs, everything else is ignore-able. In fact, we should probably write Obama a letter telling him that all of those tenured, and prestigious, economists he asks for advice and they suggest this, are in fact, fraudulent liars. Tell them that the only real economist is the o.p., someone with no discernible reputation or degree. I'm sure that all of the economists wouldn't laugh uproariously in your face over.

Oh wait, that's preposterous.

I'm not even angry at your political theory, and it is a theory, not a fact. Even still there is definite evidence for your theory. Its not my own, but it has some support nonetheless. I am, however, sick of people who have your **** attitude, that say "lets exclude every opinion that is not ours. Everything we say is fact, and everyone else is stupid." That is just annoying, and even knowing how ignorant that is i still believe you have a right to have a say in issues.

In response to “Really? Well, man have i been misled, i'm just...

I base my theory on what most businesses do when they're forced to pay employees more than the job is worth--lay them off or cease hiring/training new employees. Simply put, economics is based around the way humans interact with one another. No charts or statistics are needed to understand it.

1) You need something.
2) Someone else is willing to provide it in exchange for something that you can provide them.
3) A mutual agreement is put in place.

Friendship, relationships, money, bartering, and basically any human transaction. Like anything else in nature, when humanity starts tweaking with it or screwing it up, things start running out of sync.

My original statement was primarily directed towards people in congress who have no knowledge of economics yet make many decisions that affect it. I didn't mean to imply that all other opinions on the matter are invalid.
