It's also stolen from an earlier time in American history, when they said it to lower the drinking age to 21 because they could be DRAFTED, not voluntarily go out to war. They use special chemicals to distress them, so the cost of production is higher. It seems silly but it makes sense- apart from the fact that you're buying jeans with holes in them.

I agree that breaks should be equal for everyone.
However, what most of you don't realize because you don't smoke is that craving a cigarette can make you incredibly irritable. If someone needs a cig it's better for every coworker if that person is allowed to have one, because if you are in any work environment with customers that person is going to be absolutely useless if they are nic'ing. You will end up doing more to clean up after them for blowing up on a customer, or helping them because they're too frustrated to work...whatever. So don't be mad if your cowokers are allowed cigarette breaks, be relieved. They're going to work better and be nicer after that cig, I promise you.
