Twilight would've been a lot better if Meyer scrapped most of the romance and stuck with them fighting the bad vampire (too lazy to look up their name...)

There are a lot of books that can pull off action and romance well (The Host, The Hunger Games, The Uglies etc.) but Twilight was just gagging.

I prefer Harry Potter, but I don't take part in the "War"

I also prefer Harry Potter, but I feel that the "war" is a bit trivial lol

I read Twilight before it was popular, and really didn't care for it. All of a sudden everyone was like "OMG! Twilight is the best!!!" I just kind of stood there scratching my head, wondering how a bad book got so popular.

The Host, on the other hand, was great. It had an original story, and amazing characters. Where as Twilight was just like every other awkward love triangle induced lovestory, only with mythical beasts.

hahaha yeah.... But I kindof like the storyline of Twilight, it's just the writing is so horrible, it's ridiculous. I just hate how everyone compares Twilight and Harry Potter. I mean, 1) The two are not even comparable, writing-wise, and 2) The storyline are NOTHING alike! It's like trying to compare a Sarah Dessen book to like Shakespeare or something lol

I loved The Host. She should stick to books like that, forget Twilight.

Seriously. Twilight used to be my favourite book ever like four years ago before everyone started reading it, but now when I go to reread it, I'm like, wow this book is so bad compared to other books I've read in the meantime.

You should. I guess Peeps/Last Days is considered a series, but I don't really think you need to read Peeps to read Last Days. It helps if you read it, but you don't like need to.When I told people about Peeps they were like "Vampires!? Like Twilight?" But it's nothing like that. It's pretty educational too (sounds like a nerd right now), every other chapter is about parasites...kinda a little creepy.

Speaking of parasites, did you ever read The Host? It's by the same person who wrote Twilight, but it is like a hundred times better. And the writing isn't as elementary. It's actually a good read =)

Everyone at my school was reading The Uglies after it became popular (I read it before everyone else did) But, when I brought up his other books they were all like "Wait...what?"

The Uglies is a good series, but his other books are just as good (if not better, in my opinion)

I saw those, but haven't read them yet. I'm kind of borderline on if I want to buy them or wait for them to be at my school library or something.

You need to read Peeps and The Last Days, they're really good. I liked the Last Days more then Peeps, because there were more characters. I can't seem to find the Midnighters anywhere...

I bought them at barnes and noble the first time I read them, and then I was in this bookstore in Miami called Books and Books and I found signed copies of all three of them. It was so cool =) But yeah, you definitely need to read those. You should order them on amazon.

I love Scott Westerfield. I prefered Peeps, The Last Days, and So Yesterday over Uglies though, but they were still awesome.

Yeah Extras was just that...an extra.

So Yesterday was okay, and I never read Peeps or The Last Days, but the Midnighters trilogy was amazing. I think Uglies is his best, though. And yeah I just expected Extras to be better, based on how epic the other three were.

yeah... still good, but the characters weren't nearly as compelling. i think if he was going to write a follow-up book, he should have made it another trilogy about characters as intricate and interesting as the first ones, you know?

once you get into the series, there are lots of like fight scenes and like action type things, but i would say that tally (the main character) in uglies might get a bit annoying for a guy, but once she's changed and morphed and stuff throughout the other two books, it gets legit. this is like my favourite series ever - just the entire premise and plot is amazing, for a girl or a guy =)

Really? It's offical? I thought some movie company just bought the rights to it, but they didn't know if they were going to turn it into a movie or not.
