Well I don't think theists are egotistical at all. If EVERYONE is special to God then everyone is equally special. Just because you're special doesn't mean you're EXTRA special. God loves everybody. I think atheists are more egotistical because they're like "ha you believe in a god and there's no scientific evidence to his existance lololol I'm above you because SCIENCE and No god ftw" basically

If you think that the guy who created the universe, a structure so vast and complex that we can't even begin to comprehend it, is concerned with anything you do, I'd call that egotistical. We're so insignificant that it's hilarious. God went through the trouble of creating billions and billions of galaxies so that a few sacks of carbon and water on one small planet could praise Him for it? And if they don't praise Him correctly, He tortures them for eternity? Sounds like God is pretty full of Himself, as well. Either that or extremely insecure.
I'm not trying to disprove God, just pointing out how ridiculous it is to think that anything we do should matter to Him.

Rapists cause rape. Disrespectful individuals (in this case, men) cause disrespect. What a woman chooses to wear is NOT the cause though. Are women not allowed to wear something cute simply because men are unable to control themselves? Society advocates women being sexy, but not for themselves. If I decide to wear a short skirt, I'm wearing it for ME, to feel a little out of the ordinary, just for the fun of it- in no way am I asking for male attention. Just because I decide to show off my legs a little, in no way means I have any intention of spreading them.

Believing that when a woman wears something revealing she's "inviting" men, you're supporting the ridiculous ****-shaming, victim-blaming culture- and that is disgusting. Someone's attire is NO excuse to act crudely- have some decency, and treat others with respect.

No, they are not. Not everything women do is to impress or "advertise" to men, you know. You are not entitled to treat women on the street like a slab of meat awaiting your purchase just because you THINK it's because they want. I could justify anything with that - "oh, you're being a jerk? Sorry I thought you WANTED to be slapped. Guess you can't do me in for harassment, I thought you wanted it, you should be more careful with how you present yourself".

Stop assuming that because a woman is wearing little, she is looking for your attention. Start thinking maybe she's comfy, or too warm in more clothing. And - problem solved! - you'll stop mistaking it for an "advertisement". Stop making victims take responsibility for perpetrator's behaviours, and start making perpetrators responsible for it.

It sucks how many people have downvoted this. Why do so many people think they're entitled to look at women like pieces of meat on the street because of what they're wearing? Listen to yourselves for a second; your 'justifications' sound a bit similar to ones used from sexual harassers, don't they? "She deserves it", "she was asking for it", "it's our natural instinct", "I couldn't help it", "** deserve to be treated like **"...

Watch some ****, and go out in public when you're ready to treat people with some basic decency.

You say these arguments are weak, when your only real argument is just "i want to dress like a **** because it makes me feel better about my self esteem issues, but i don't want to take good with bad and have to deal with sleazy men looking at me even though i like it". Stop being a hypocrite. Its chicks like you who give women a bad name. Notice how i did not include you in the group "women". There's a reason for that. Oh and by the way, men don't rape because they find a girl easy, they do it because they want to be in power.

Can someone explain to me why dressing the way advertised on television is '****'?

Actually, can someone explain to me what '****' is?

Its sleeping with too many different people and not having high enough standards right? Its not being chaste and demure, right?

But only if you have a ****. Because if you do those things when you are a man, you are powerful. Macho. Respected by your peers.

Your double standard starts right there, so of course you think acting like a moron when you see an attractively dressed woman is totally acceptable.

You seem to have really awful arguments. If you walk around naked, people will look. If you put on a few clothes you'll get fewer ogling looks and if you dress extremely modestly people probably won't stare at you like a piece of meat. But you still get to decide what you wear. Also, what kind of helpless idiot constantly walks around paranoid and scared of something rare such as rape?

I am a woman. If I want to wear a cute pair of short shorts because it's hot as **** outside, I should be able to without receiving disgusting cat calls from old men inside their cars.
When I was 14 years old and still in junior high, I wore my brand new dress to school. As I was about to cross the street, some guy shouted out from his window "hey sexy, nice legs. I'm only 17 ya know?" I ignored him and proceeded to cross the street and then he made a U-TURN and tried to follow me until I was safely inside my school. I was in hysterics and I had to call my mom to pick me up. I never wore that dress again.
I don't care if I wasn't actually raped, if he didn't actually touch me. It's **** that I felt that I couldn't wear that pretty dress again for fear of being sexually harassed. This is the real issue. I want to wear whatever I want, where ever I want, during what ever time of day.
I wasn't at some crazy party wearing some sexy cat costume. I was **** walking to school wearing a dress.
That's not acceptable. That's what this person is arguing. This shit is real.

You keep saying things so definitively, as if you're some kind of authority on the subject. You haven't even given me a source, like I explicitly asked. Who do you think you are?

0- puberty is a kid. I actually have a source. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child
Please, counter that with more than your usual inane babble.

I remember the bloody shows. They weren't cancelled before I was born, and they weren't all reruns. Plus, I can actually remember some of the nineties. Not much, and I haven't been through absolutely all of it, but neither has someone born in 93.

What makes you think I can't remember 97? And why are you pulling this medieval shit out of your **** now? What even are you.

I can call myself a nineties kid all I want, and so could someone born in 2001 if they were really adamant about it. It's not up to you who I identify as.

Okay then. A kid is someone who could REMEMBER stuff vividly. And how the hell could you remember 1997? You were only an INFANT in that year! I bet that you could BARELY remember 1998 and 1999. You couldn't really know what you are doing until age 4.

Do you remember the 1998 Winter Olympics? Do you remember fanboysim between Mortal Kombat 3 and Killer Instinct fanboys? Do you remember when people used Windows 95, NOT Windows 98? Do you remember when grunge music was popular, and Britney Spears was no where in sight?

Stop considering age 3 to be the main year of childhood, it is not, being 0, 1, 2, or even 3 IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING 7!!!

you are a 2000s kid. Call yourself a 90's kid all you want, it will make people born from 1982/1983-1992 hold a BIGGER grudge against people born from
1993-1999, even IF it's age discrimination.

I'm not sure if you have a very short memory span, or spent a particularly long time in diapers, but by simple definition, yes, I am a nineties kid, and I'm afraid you'll have to deal with it.

No you are not! You are a 90's BABY! You were a BABY in 1996, an INFANT in 1997, and a TODDLER in 1998 and 1999. You might be able to faintly remember 1999, but you were still a toddler, and 1999 only amounts to ONE year in the 90's, what about
1990-1998? Childhood starts at age 4, so your childhood began in 2000, and ended in 2009. You are an ultimate 2000s kid. You may have watched 90's shows on RE-RUNS, but that doesn't count. You don't see anybody born in 1986 calling themself an 80's kid, so stop calling yourself a 90's kid, and take pride for being a 2000s kid.

1983-1992 are 90's kids only.

There's nothing to get over. I'm not mad or anything, I just believe differently. One, there can be no set rule on this. How do you know that I'm not a 90s kid? Sure, most of my childhood was not spent in the 90s, but if I grew up with 90s culture (which I did), that could make me a 90s kid. My sister and I grew up with the same things and were raised together. If she's a 90s kid, so am I. There is a grace period. The whole culture of the 90s decade didn't disappear on midnight of 1999. I still wore 90s hand-me-downs and still played with old 90s toys. I even went to school for three years in the 90s. The reason I say 94' is the cutoff is because the "grace period" can only last so long before you're really pushing it. Your math is correct, but this is not a completely mathematical scenario.

Nope, it doesn't work that way. You have to at least be 7 in 1999 to be a 90's kid, you can't just use the Early 2000s handmedown.

I say black. I'm white, so why not?

I will only use African-American if it is a person (white, black, whatever race) who was born in or lived in Africa and now lives in America...

I am not Italian-American because my grandparents and mom were born in Italy... I am American.

It's almost funny how hard the moms push the kids. It's like, if they're crying, instead of saying "Oh sweetie, what's wrong?" like a real mother should, they say "don't cry, you'll ruin you makeup." I feel so bad for them. especially the boys
